Trouble Code P2BAC with EFI Live

Got a code today. P2BAC. Driving home from work the truck felt down on power/not boosting right, not sure if it actually is or not but it's what caused me to run trouble codes and that's what came up. CEL wasn't actually on. Haven't had much luck finding out exactly what it is online but appears to be egr related. I just did efi by Ryan (Hardway) last weekend and truck has ran flawlessly until now. Tried calling Hardway at 4:50 et today, she said Cody would call me back when he got off the phone but haven't heard back. I'm assuming they're closed for the day but may still call idk. I'm thinking they can assist tomorrow but I guess at this point I'm wondering if I can make it to work tomorrow or could the truck go in limp mode? Anybody else have this issue? I have tried unplugging just the air horn egr plug and all 4 egr plugs. When I clear the code with my edge juice with attitude it come back instantly. Any help is appreciated. Like I said hopefully Hardway can help tomorrow

Yea those are the four I unplugged originally. Then I tried unplugging just the servo like Hardway instructions say. Code still comes back instantly. And that code description is what I found guys saying it was for 2011 models having problems. Unfortunately it doesn't help me understand what the problem is. At this point if I just knew it's not gonna shut me down tomorrow it would help me sleep better until I talk to Hardway. But thanks for the response!

Any update? I'm curious because I'm about to pull the trigger on the EFI stuff and want to make sure the bugs are worked out.

Not trying to sway you or be down on hardway, I'm sure they will get him going. But it's nice with PPEI to have dedicated tech support from them. I even emailed chad on a weekend and he got back to me in about two minutes. If you order through James he's always available too. Anyone can sell you this stuff. It's the support afterwards that's a big selling point for me. Kory has been on the forum just about every day since this Efi came out. Haven't seen hardway around much, I'm sure they are super busy.

I talked to Cody this morning. He said he hadn't heard of this problem yet. He wants me to try the 60 hp tune and see what happens. I'm gonna load it after work. The thing is is that even if that fixes it I don't necessarily want to run the 60 horse tune with my stock clutch and until it's been tested on the street a little longer by others, but he assures me it's a conservative tune

The truck is definitely de-rated right now. The same hill I could hit 35 psi on is only getting to about 25 max now and you can feel a big difference on the top end power.

Update for anyone interested: downloaded the latest efi v8 version and firmware and installed the 60 hp g56 tune. On startup the code was gone. Took it for a 15 mile ride and it still isn't back on. I'd like to think it's fixed but it took about 150 miles to show up the first time so time will tell.

On a side note, I was surprised how much more power it has with the 60 hp tune. I can't believe the stock clutch is holding through all gears at all rpms but it only has 4700 miles on it so could be part of it. I've babied the clutch since day 1

Got a few questions for you: Are you auto or manual? Did it happen running the stock delete tune? Did you unplug just the underside air horn plug or all 4 plugs? How many miles did it take to happen after deleting? Is that the only code you're getting? Can you tell the motor is on reduced power? Trying to see if there is any similarities between me and you

Well about 100 miles in on the new 60 hp tune and the code and reduced power is back! Looks like it didn't fix anything. Looks like I'll be making another call to Hardway tomorrow. Anybody else having this issue yet?

I just scanned mine for codes with my bully dog and this code came up. I was running the stock deleted Hardway tune. My truck is the g56 also. I got the updated tunes last night and I am loading the new stock deleted tune right now. Do you have any more updates on this?

I talked to Cody yesterday, he still didn't know what it could be but Ryan is supposed to be working on it but haven't heard back from them. You might want to give them a call and let them know your issue so they have more data points to trouble shoot and they'll realize it's not an isolated issue. Everyone should probably run their codes because it doesn't trigger an CEL, you have to manually look for it. There's probably a lot of people that have it and don't realize it

My truck set this code as well as a P0408 this weekend while I was headed to ATS's Dyno Days. I cleared the code and cycled the ignition. Both codes went away while I was in town. But once I got up to highway speeds and set the cruise it would come back. I did this several times and its still current. I am going to try to contact Ryan and see what the current status is on this.

Good luck man, I've been trying to get it figured out with them since I started this thread and still don't have everything figured out. See my thread about their customer service a few pages back. Sounds like they might have a fix this week though

Also, for your info, my initial worry of it going in to limp mode with this EGR code seems to not be an issue. I've been driving with the code a month now and it hasn't went in limp mode. With the stock race tune it does seem derated on power like it says it is but not limped. On the 60 hp tune I can't tell if I feel a derate so possibly not. I've just been driving it easy. Sucks to not be able to play around much in your first month of having EFI live/exhaust. But I think I'll get it all sorted out eventually

I have gotten the P2BAC code once. Was able to clear it and it hasn't come back yet. I didn't notice it until I got a CEL. When I pulled the codes with BD, I had the P2BAC and another about EGR temps.

I have also seen P04DB (CCV) fault show up once, but no other issues. I started running the 90 hp tune, had issues with the P2BAC/EGR code. Flashed the 130 hp, threw the CCV code, then flashed down to the 60 hp tune. Running smooth now but haven't put many miles on it since the reflash.

I have hardway tuning and a 68RFE trans.

Yea I have Hardway tunes. And I had some concerns with my truck when I first uploaded the stock/delete tune it set a "fuel system service required" message. I sent Ryan a message on face book and he got back to me pretty quick and was good about keeping the conversation going with my concerns. I also emailed Cory/Cody (whoever their tech guy is at Hardway) and he got back to me quickly once he got back in the office. So all in all I haven't had terrible customer service from them.

Also I haven't been able to try out any of the tunes aside from the 60hp because my clutch is already smoked at 32k miles.

Code P2BAC

If your updated tunes will fix the P2BAC do you have any idea when I can get those updated tunes from you. I filled out the form on your website for the updated tunes, I was just wanting to get rid of this code. P2BAC comes on when I am running the 90hp tune with an auto 68rfe. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Seth
