I broke my transfer case. The housing is cracked so it has no fluid. My question is can I drive it in 2wd until I get the rebuilt transfer case in? I'm going to have to remove the front drive shaft it came unconnected from the front diff. I'm guessing the front drive shaft hit the ground and busted the transfer case. Any help would be great. Thanks

Transmission will be fine but the transfer case input/output bearing will freeze up or go out due to lack of lube. It will get you around in an emergency but be prepared to walk, LOL.

fyi when my 241 blew up i called transfer case exchange in oakland,ca for $800 i got a brand new np271 with rear slip yoke elimintor and also modified shift pattern to match my 99. it has been in my truck for a couple years now with no issues. they are semi local to me and gave me a lifetime warranty on it. when i bought it they supplied all the transfer cases to kragen orielly good size outfit.

I found out reason the 4wd light was on. There's two hard vaccum lines that are bolted to the cross member that have two boots connected to them I had them backwards. Thanks guys for all the help. She's back on the road and I got to enjoy her in snow we got today. One last question anybody know if I can fit a 13.50 wide tire on a 8in wide wheel? I seen some guys put them on a 8.5in wide wheel. But not 8in.

Check out the tire manufacturer's website. it will list rim size specs.
