Torque converter randomly locking up? 25-30 mph

I have a ats trans with billet 5 star torque converter etc... I noticed a while ago the torque convertor would randomly lock up about 25-30 mph it's a little more common now then when it shifts it's rough as hell and unlocks again until I reach overdrive. Is this a wiring issue or signs of the torque convertor about to fail? Figured ide ask around a bit before I go calling ats. Also I have no lockup switch or co-pilot. Thanks！

Did you find the problem, mine has started doing that even when coming to a stop.

No sir pretty sure it's signs of it going bad but I havnt taken it in to geit swapped out yet

Could also be solenoid or sticking valve in valve body. I think my smarty was messing with mine, I changed the valve body out and it starting acting up, put truck back to stock and hasn't done it since. But there is a solenoid that controls lock up also, easier to change then TC.

Yeah either way all I have to do is drop it off and they deal with it but I don't know what it is lol

Mine does the same thing. It is a stock 48RE trans. It's getting worse now though and is now unlocking at 65 when it should be locked. Let me know what u figure out.

Probably you TC, depends on how many miles on it. My problem is I just had the TC freshened up by Suncoast and had just changed the valve body, so guess I'll look to the last thing changed which was valvebody. Good luck on yours.
