Have any of you all had any issues with you monitoring system?

I have a message that cam on today that says :

CHECK TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM

I had them switch everything over into my new wheels and tires that I put on the truck at 500 miles and had no issues since?

Do the little readers go bad or something? All 4 tire pressures are still reading air psi??

It goin to get checked in the morning... Just was curious to see if any others have had this issue.

I have been in the cold and back to hot and back to cold... I don't think this is the issue right now. It just randomly came on today when it was about 70 degrees outside and after I had driven around in town for about 20 minutes...

Sensors are easily swapped! I work at Discount Tire and we do it all the time. The only reason to buy a new one is if you have a broken one. If it's leaking or something you can buy "rebuild" kits that have a new rubber sealing washer and a few other pieces including the top piece you actually see outside the wheel.

What about the spare? Does it have one?

I just adjusted my tires from the light load settings to heavy load to haul a trailer. I shut the truck off, set the fronts to 75, rear 80, fired up the truck and immediately hit the button to shut off the light load settings. I switched the EVIC to show the tire pressures and all four tire pressure indicators were flashing and the TPMS light was on. After a minute or two, the right front and left rear showed the correct pressures and stopped flashing, but the left front and right rear kept flashing. I waited some more and nothing changed so I aired up the spare to 80 (from the 55 it was at). Still nothing. Took it for a drive and before I got a mile down the road, the other two pressures read correctly and they both stopped flashing, TPMS light went out.

see I think in your case the truck hadn't reset....

because when I had them switch them into my 20's they were all reading funky... left was on the right and front was in the back or wherever the sensors were... drove about 10 miles and then it was fine...:confused013:

Is the tpms light the one on the left hand side with a (!) it will flash once the truck turns on and blink several times and then it stays on and gives me that message that I stated... to check tpms system

Check and make sure that the tires are inflated to what they are supposed to be set at. Even though they are reading a psi, they need to be at a certain psi +/- a few psi to keep the light off.

going to look now but thats what I have them set too...
Set them to the pressure it says on the sticker when you open the door. If they say the wheels are in the wrong position, like LR but it's really the RF, then they need to be relearned with a special tool.
when the shop that did them, Martin Tire, there special tool wouldn't do anything... I had to drive it and it reset itself to the proper locations front right left front, rear left, and rear right.

going to check now

ya he was going around with this tool to each tire/wheel and messin with something and it wasn't doing whatever it was supposed to do....
Well, what does the EVIC show for the pressures?
rf 63 lf 64
rr 46 rl 46
I have had this issue also. You have to have exactly 65 in front and 45 in back or it will not let you put the light load setting on.
my light load and all that is on though....
