Time quoted to replace head gasket?

What is the time dealers and private shops are charging to do the head gasket on the 6.7. Pretty sure mine is gone. I have already bought studs and can get the parts cheaper then what they will charge me but I really don't feel like doing myself. Getting colder outside and my truck wont fit all the way in the garage, plus I really don't feel like doing it. Right now looking at all my options, including getting a new truck. New truck idea is more then the engine issues. I would like the newer interior and stereo and a long box.

I am not sure on the time part of your question but I would call NADP in Edmonton. I got a quote from them a while back and it was reasonable from what I can remember. If they are too busy (which is a pretty good possibility) they will refer you to another place in Edmonton they use.

Local diesel performance shop near me charges $300 for install according to their website. That seems low compared to how much time I've heard it takes.

I too would recommend nadp. they are good at what they do when it comes to this thing. I know they charge $500 bucks to install headstuds. (doesn't include the studs obviously). For a headgasket, I would expect the price to be around 1600-2000 all in assuming the head needs to be decked.

Well for now I am outa here. Traded the truck in yesterday. Pick the new one up tomorrow. It was a really tough decision I had to make yesterday. Went from a one ton single wheel looking at a long box diesel to a half ton gasser longhorn. It wont do everything I wanted but had to make a choice.

I am looking forward to the new toy but everyone is betting it will be modified right away and I will be back into a diesel within six months. I hope not. Gets expensive lol. Goona be a sad day tomorrow when I drop of the cummins and exchange it for the hemi.

This is the second hemi I have had. The first was a 08. Decent engine but not great mileage. Getting about 14-15 mpg. It may improve a little as the engine breaks in but not much. I am loving the truck. The ride is awesome. Just need it to tow ok too. Def no diesel but I am happier with this truck then I was with my old and I was really happy with that one. They do make the longhorn in a 3/4 ton diesel so I am sure they have it in a 1 ton too. Would love to get one but could not afford it.
