It was a 2 day wait to get my truck back and over 40 hours of labor to get the finished product. The did the bumpers, rockers, inside the doors, lightbar, and fender flares.

I thought I would share the final result. The truck in no longer 2 tone.

Need to get the truck cleaned up some and get some better shots overall. I am very happy with the result. They were not sure how to hook up my HID's and blew up one of the code eliminators so I am now getting some flicker on my fogs which I will have to correct tonight. Glad that I have spares.

Looks good. I might have to do my rockers some day or have them re-painted and clear bra'd in a few years. You should be good to go from a lot of rock chips and other crap.

I wish I would have known about some of the effects they could do before I had the truck sprayed I would have taken advantage of it.

I do plan to add some details like this to my trailer though.

A custom logo would look pretty sweet. Did they put the linex on the back without asking or did you want it?

I asked for it. They don't normally add it but because I am moving to the east coast soon I wanted it for warrenty if I ever need it. This way any line-x dealer will cover it if there is a problem.

It was a bit more than average because I had them spray everything and some things they normally never do, inside the doors behind the fender flares and bumpers. There is nearly 200lbs of product on the truck now with everything I have had sprayed. It was just a bit over 2K. If you are doing just your rockers the price is $899.

The labor for pulling everything off the truck (door seals, bumpers, sensors, lights, light bar) is what made mine a bit more than average.

I will try to get some pictures tomorrow evening if we are done packing for the move and I can get a chance to clean the truck. There was a lot of dust from all the prep work. I had to wait 24hrs to wash it to allow the clear over the line-x to dry.

I wanted to show the diference.

Here is the before,

And here it is now, dirty still.

Now I will have to wait for the lift, tires, and wheels. Then I think the truck will be where I want it, for a few days anyways.

I have had numerous fiberglass canopys over the years and they always started to crack or come apart after use. I wanted something that would carry all my tools, compressor, air tanks, recovery gear, welder and more and leave the bed free for use. Plus with the aluminum I can; weld it if it fails, it is much easier to run electrical in and mount devices (solar and lights) it is much more secure than previous model fiberglass units I have owned.

I know it is definately not something for everyone but it provides a lot of storage (last time on the scales nearly 900lbs) of gear.

Holy hell somebody needs a new roof on that house!

Good catch, I had to go back and look LOL!

Have to love military housing. It was due for a new roof long ago abut they only replace it at set intervals.:confused013:

Dam...that is a nice looking truck with the Black on Black Line-X!!!

I have been planning on doing the same thing to my Bright White truck, but haven't been able to decide whether to go two tone with black linex on the rockers, etc, or use the color matched, white line-x XTRA.

I am going tp have to figure it out and get it done.

Can you ballpark me on the cost of the project (just the line-x, not the whole truck!!!)

Cost for a standard truck (rockers only) is $900 for black with top coat. Bumpers are an extra $200 each.

My truck is a TRX4 (outdoorsman) which comes with color match grill.

Total cost for all the work was just over $2K.

What part of the doors did you have coated?
And did you ask them about doing the inside of your fenders and under your bed?

#25 ·
Hey Sapper, you get that line x all done for that price in Lloyd? That's where I been getting line x done on bed. They wouldn't do my bumpers few years ago for some reason though

It was tidy truck in Loyd.

The reason I asked for the Line-X logo was so that it would covered for warranty work if I ever need it. As it was being sprayed I bought a house 4500k away, with my job I move often and wanted to ensure I was covered.

The line-x xtra (top coat) is not supposed to fade, it's guaranteed not to, if it does they will redo it........that's what my local line-x dealer told me anyways.

They didn't spray under the bed or fenders but they did under the flares. I am sure they would have if I was willing to pay for it.
