Sonnax 2nd gear servo kit with Transgo Shift Kit

I've been rebuilding my 48re for the last couple of days and I did the shift kit/valve body today. Part of that mod is enlarging a couple of holes on the valve body separator plate.

After the valve body was done I started looking over the Sonnax 2nd gear servo parts and instructions. Wouldn't you know that the Sonnax instructions say DO NOT enlarge the holes or the trans may bind.

Going to call Sonnax tomorrow, but anybody have any experience with this? Not sure if i can use thier part or if I have to use the stock servo now...

I have read that the Sonnax binds up worse than stock and I know at least one big name player will only use TCS. Having said that I have zero Sonnax servo experience. I read what I read and gave it away in favor of the TCS. Are you doing a 4.2 lever and billet strut and anchor as well? It seems most are choosing 4.2 levers.

From what I was told is that the TransGo kit pressure is set up for the stock 5.0 lever. I just installed this same kit and I stayed with the the stock lever and I used the Sonnax billet cover with new strut and anchor. The only thing I did not do is drill the holes for TC lockup. Everything seem to be working great shift are a lot better.

Have the red Sonnax servo sitting on the bench. Been sitting there since it was replaced with a TCS servo, TCS works better with shift kits and double return spring. Do get a billet strut good protection.

One of my best friend works for Sonnax. I let him know and he should respond soon

Figured I'd try this old thread before starting a new one.
Just finished up the transgo kit, and then noticed there's a billet servo in there. It's not a red one, and it's the one that is normally plastic stock/oem. Is this going to cause shifting problems? I'm also installing a billet cover (2nd gear I think), and I drilled one 1/16" hole in the valve body for firmer shifts. I also installed new borg electronics and filed that notch in the valve body like the instructions said.
*the new transgo kits have other new parts I used as well. I can only imagine that these new parts have improved the kit.

I appreciate any advice or experience with this situation!
