I hope so as these 3rd gen seats aren't the best.

 

Try to find some used 2003 dodge ram 1500 SRT 10 seats. They are a direct bolt in.

 

I like the way the look but can’t imagine they’re much better than what’s currently in there. Seats have come a long way in 20 years.

Front seats from a 2500/3500 bolt in. Rear seats not so much. That’s because there is no quad cab HD, and crew cab seats don’t fit properly in a quad truck.

You're best bet is installing 4th gen 1500 quad cab seats.

 

SRT 10 seats are going to be extremely hard to find and very expensive.
I also do not think they're more comfortable than a late set of Longhorn or Limited seats.

Your best bet is to find some 13-18 1500/2500/3500 front seats to swap in, the bolt pattern matches up directly.
19-23 2500/3500 seats are going to bolt in as well.

Try and find some seats with the side air bags blown out, wreckers have to sell them for essentially parts as it in incredibly expensive to re airbag them.

I just picked up 2 front seats and console from a 2020 Power Wagon, upgraded leather, for $500.
The side air bags are blown but that should be a $200 upholstery job at a leather furniture repair shop.

 

So to answer the question, yes the front seats will bolt in, no the rear seats won't bolt in. Yes the rear seats can be made to fit, and it will give the truck a sportier feeling too because there will be no leg room. Sitting in the back would be like sitting in the back of a sports car where you wonder why they even put a seat back there, and then realize it's all for insurance classification reasons only. What i would do in your shoes is find some front seats from a new truck that you like, then have the rear seats reupholstered to match

 

If he gets 4th gen 1500 QUAD cab rear seats it will be almost bolt in and same leg room.

 

My kids 2007 came with cloth seat. Used this company and got leather cover's. he Installed them, didn't need a upholsterer

I was given these seats. Customer crashed his car, no insurance. Front seats air bag deployed. Was going to get katzkin to make covers to match color and material to my seat. There for a Mitsubishi rally sport, made by RECARO.

 

Thanks all. It sounds like my best course of action is to source the front seats and console and have my existing rear seats reupholstered to match.

I searched the site and read countless threads about swapping seats from a 4th gen to 3rd gen but couldn't find an answer to this specific question.

Will seats from a 2020 bolt into a 2003? I know the wiring will need to be modified but I'm not sure if MY2020 is still considered a 4th gen or if there's something else I haven't considered.

Well since the 2020 is technically still a 4th gen just follow the 4th gen steps as its the EXACT same process…

 

For my 3rd gen 2004.5 I decided to go with Suburban seat package for 2003 -2009 dodge trucks. These are air ride seats and boy do they really work well!

I went down all the same rabbit holes when looking for front seat replacements for my 3rd Gen (2007.0).
I ended up going with the Knoedler Extreme Lowrider Air Suspension Seat
New Seats for an Old Girl (Upgraded - Aftermarket) + New Carpet to Boot

Hello, just tagging along here, Does anybody know what seats will fit on the 2003 3500 BASES ?
from what you guys have said I can put 4th gen seats in , using 4th gen bases, but for those of us that don't want to mess with rewiring the bases and canbus problems , what can I install on my 2003 3500 BASES, BTW my motors on my base say GEN IIB, 3500's seem to be behind the 1500 generation by a year, it seems, sometimes ??
