Running board compatibility

Would anyone know for sure if the running board from a 2016 fits a 2012? I found some sweet running boards with the extension for the bed, but they are off of a 2016. They are the stock ones.

I looked around form aftermarket vendors and many of them fit all 2009 onward but I'm not sure if it's some custom design of the brackets or if the mounting points are simply the same.

They should fit just fine, might just need to check your rockers for the nutserts. If you dont have any, there is a kit from dodge you can buy to install them. ($60~ IIRC)

I thought that perhaps when they changed the frame they changed the mounting points. I do have side steps but are not wheel to wheel.

One thing I noticed is the bracket has a different shape.

Perhaps I can remove one of mine before going to the seller so I can compare or mock them up see if the holes line up...

they changed the forward oval hole into a circle hole, and then underneath the forward hole they put in a couple nuts. The 16's also have a bracket on the driver side in the front that gets in the way. I just put a set on my dad's 16. They should be backwards compaitble, but depending on how they mount, you may need to figure out your own nut plate to get it to work
