Im getting a suncoast rebuild and apparently it needs to go to the dealer for a tranny quick learn.Do I need to remove my blackmaxx or just unplug it and leave the tune in?
Does the star scan tool hook up to the same port as my blackmaxx does?

i would never leave my tune installed if i bring it to the dealer

I just had a suncoast transmission installed on my truck and all I did was set it to stock, the dealership connects the starscan to the same port that your Black Max connects to. They unplug the BM and do the relearn; once completed they connect the BM and you are done. I did not have a single issue.

My transmission shop did the quick learn with the smarty installed. Yes I know it is not plugged onto the obdII. The edge was though.

Hey thanks everyone.

Probably set the blackmaxx to stock and unplug it from OBD so the dealer can quick learn.

Just wanted to make sure that my blackmaxx tune for stock, doesn't affect the quick learn process.

It will be fine. Just make sure they don't do any other "updates" to your truck.

You want the tranny put into quick learn, ONLY.

If it was me I would stand next to the truck and wait for the tech to come get it, then I would let him know what is up, and make sure he is only going to do a QL on the TCM.
