Anybody installed the quadzilla boost fooler? Any difference? Is it worth it? Just need an opinion.:thumbsup

Wondering is it worth it for 07' 5.9 mega cab all stock, just intake.

2 psi

I installed one, saw a 2 psi increase. 28lbs of boost, Im not knocking it I still need an exhaust and only have a K&N drop in filter. With my triple dog on extreme I saw 1500 degrees last night at the track.

Not much of a gain until you add more fuel. I saw a BD one advertised for $60. I assume its the same as the quad.

My boost went up a little with just a fooler, not too noticable. Then I added a power puck and WOW!!

sorry to hijack, but i just bought a boost fooler and it says not to use with any sort of plug in chip... i have a powerpuck. anybody have problems with both on there?

If you are completely stock now you will find that just loading the first stage of any of the programers will make that boost lag go away-Its part of the stock programming that does that, its more like a throttle lag. But if you load a programmer or module you will see heck of a lot faster throttle response too:woot:

So a boost fooler will help lower EGT's, thats interesting....

I assume that is the main reason that many programmers DO NOT recommend towing on the performance settings? Would the Boost fooler (that I have in a box under my seat) help make the performance setting more tow-safe?

I would assume it would helo on my application because it seems that I am getting more fuel than air on the top end-just my opinion and that would lead to a high EGT situation. I am not sure about the towing part:confused:

the only thing I don't like a bout the fooler is no waste gate, but you can buy an ajustable elbow to put on. I think it the fooler is worth it though

My average loaded weight is about 25,000lbs. gross. After I added the boost fooler to my triple dog my egt's dropped about 200 degrees. I ran it in the performance mode when I was pulling grades. It didn't run any hotter unless it was below 1700rpm.

I had the same deal so I called Diablo and they said I could run them both at the same time no problem. Yet, when I did they interfered with each other and it ran weird. My fooler made about 7-8 psi difference. A lot of people on here say it's pointless on a stocker because it just puts the turbo out of its efficiency range. I also run mine cautiously because a local guy ran one on his with a heavy fueling programmer and he broke the shaft on his stocker two different times. It made a seat of the pants difference on mine and it helped when running it hard because the w/g wasn't trying to open and close erratically at high boost. You could feel the truck surge, if you will, a bit at higher boost levels and with the fooler it corrected that.

The Boost Fooler is so that you dont get an overboost code. You are only going to be able to take the stock turbo so far, and if the truck is stock, you dont need one. If you add a Smarty, Edge, or something similar, you may get an overboost code. If so, the Boost Fooler will cure that. The Smarty does Boost Fool, but only to 45 PSI, so with aftermarket Turbos, that are getting more than that, you will need one. Hope this helps the original question.:thumbsup

i have an 06 with bdtd and i was hitting 32psi with an intake, banks high ram and straight pipe. once i put on the boost fooler i was only reading 25psi. i called quadzilla and they say that its actually around 42psi but the fooler doesnt allow for the bdtd to read the true psi. i could tell a slight difference but i dont feel like my truck is putting out enough fuel to keep up

I put my truck on the dyno to see what the difference was before I bought It at the shop i was at and it made a 102 hp difference with the mods in my sig because I thought a smarty boost fooled period I didn't know it was just to. 45 psi so yes if u have a heavily mods truck a boost fooler is the cheapest power I have bought
