From what Im gathering there are alot less problems with the 08's. I think a new 6.7 would be a great truck :thumbsup

 

I have an 08 with only 2000 miles on it ... but no problems so far . . . I really like the truck

 

I have the first 08 off the line last July and no problems so far. Just make sure it has the latest flash before it leaves the dealer. The latest flash for the 08's is AP

Well that's not sounding too bad.. I just don't wanna be one of the guys that gets a 6.7 and winds up goin back to the 5.9

 

I have only had my 08 for a week now and only have 500 miles on the clock, but no issues either. I really do love this truck, :lol3:.

 

I've had mine for 2 weeks now & have about 1600 miles on it. No problems so far & I love this truck. Dont miss my duramax at all! I had an 04.5 cummins 600 too & imo the 6.7 is a lot torquier. I just hope mine continues to be trouble free.

 

My opinion,,KEEP THE 5.9 If I had it to do over I would have a 5.9, thats what I went to get and the dealer had no more. They talked me into the 6.7 When I asked about problems with it they told me there had been some when they were first released, but that the problems had been fixed with a computer update. Well that was four updates and one recall ago and I can tell you it will never work right with all the emmisions crap it has on it. It haas so much carbon and crap in the clogged up and in the engine all the time, your not gonna see the kind of longevity that weve been used to with diesel engines. So why pay 5 or 6 grand more for a diesel? Unless you enjoy having your truck in and out of the shop constantly!

 

Well as soon as BADP has a kit with no codes my truck would be straight piped so the emmisions won't be a huge issue. My uncle is the service manager at my dealership so warranty isn't an issue. But do you like yours as far as power goes? Plus that electric blue mega makes up for the motor :woot:

 

Have a new 08 6.7 quad cab with 1500 miles Pull big living quarters horse trailer like it so far only problem was with 1 rear tire General had a bulge in sidewall Dealer replace it
mileage is around 10 with trailer and 12 around town hope it gets better

 

Had a whole lot of problems around 2500 miles and continued until about 5500 miles. The truck went in the shop for the problems I had been having Feb 6th. They updated the ECM with the AP flash, and a new tranny program for hard shifts in gears 2-3 I think. About 1000 miles later no CEL, the fuel mileage has improved a little and love the truck again. Lots of power!!!!!!!!!

 

i thought the latest flash was the AX?

 

AX is for the 07's. AP is for the 08's

 

08 with 7000 miles and love every minute of it! No problems at all!

 

Can U Run A Straight Pipe With Th Edge Kit Without Going Into A Limp Mode Or Having Problems

 

1800 miles, no CELs, commuting 29 miles one way to work for the time being, 16.1 average MPG, hand calculated. Truck works great!

Where do you live? There is a bunch of white crap all over the parking lot there. Is someone going to clean that mess up? Has Hazmat checked it out? Holy Moly dude, your truck is sitting in it and it's all over the tires!!

Power is great, but nothing is worth the constant hassle associated with this truck. Just want a truck i can drive to work and back 5 days a week in stop and go traffic, pull my travel trailer 6 or 8 times per year and not have my truck in and out of the shop everry 800 miles.

 

if its not a big trailer it sounds like you need a 1/2 ton pickup

 

I have an 08 MC with almost 500 miles on it with less than one week of bringing it home. I finally pulled my 4000# 16ft. work trailer and it seems to like the load. I am anxious to put a few more miles on it and put my toy hauler behind it.

 

I picked mine up and drove it over night.. Still haven't traded, have a lot to take off my truck. So far i love this thing. The UConnect is nice and the mega cab in awesome! Just looks kinda funny on the stock wheels and tires. Do you guys think 20's and 33's would look good?

 

I think 18's with 33's would look good. I think 20's are too big period. Im all about more tire less wheel.

08 with 2200 mi. love it. No problems and getting 15-16 mixed driving. 19 on long hauls..hand calc.
These trucks climb steep grades with loads like it was flat ground. amazing.

I bought my mega cab 2500 on Feb 14th

so far i have 714 miles on it. 20 miles back and forth to work mostly highway.

Not one glitch.

On the first tank of fuel. I got 13.2 hand calculated.

So far it is looking like 15.2 with the computer on this tank.

EXHAUST BRAKE IS COOL!

Oh yeahI traded in a 2005 Chevrolet crew cab LS 4x4 with 52000 miles in great shape. Stock and got $26000 for the trade. FYI

 

i think 33's on 20's look great but there is not enough side wall, rides a bit rough with that short side wall. when these are gone i am going with 35's
