Bought 04 quad cab with 164k last friday and did first oil, and fuel filter changes. Looked really dirty. Since I'm used to gas engines 164k Is high to me but maybe not for the cummins I don't know. Question is does anyone run any lucas stabalizer or oil additives in their oil. I used filters from cummins direct and rotella 15w40. Thanks for any input.

keep up the good preventative maintanace. i bought my 03 with 180,000 mile on it in december and just rolled over 200k yeasterday and shes still running strong. stick with the 15/40 rotella its the best diesel oil made in my opinion i change my fuel filter twice a year and my oil every 5k. i wouldnt run any additives theres no reason to use them. fleetuard is a good filter for cummin. hope this helps let me know if you want to know anything else

does that thing have death wobble with those spacers? jw

When the tires are cold it definitley will give ya a lil shake sometimes. Pretty sure its from the chpped up tires. They're really bad. part of the deal I made on the truck thbough is that the dealer had to pay fr 4 brand new 35 inch bfg's. Should be in wed ore thur. Can't wait for those. Getting a good alignment same day and all shuld be good. Gonna make a homemade intake this weekend and looking for a programmer. Maybe a catback system and that should hold me over for a lil while.

Thats the best thing you can do to our truck is the maintenance schedule!! By the way welcome to CF:thumbsup: I do in mine just because i run my oil a little bit longer than normal since Im traveling a good bit, racking up the miles. WHen I change my oil I usually put 2-3 bottles of stabilizer to 13 qts of oil. i never tried the cummins filters . Iv'e always had goodluck with Napa oil and fuel filters, and 15w40 Castrol or Rotella.
