i recently just bought a 2009 2500 mega cab 6.7 i did have a 2006 2500 mega cab 5.9 so i am new to the 6.7 world i have about 25000.00 to spend on performance and about 8000.00 to spend on a lift and rims and tires...idk if i should put a lift on becuase i do truck pulls but i do like the look of a truck that is lifted..so i was wondering if you guys could help me in what performance parts i should do to get the mos power out of my 6.7 and if i should lift her or not thanks for your help

All you need to do is DPF/EGR/cooler delete, exhaust, and either the Smarty or XRT programer. The truck will feel like a new animal and get 5 more MPGs. Call James at Rollin Smoke Diesel, he will hook you up.

You need to find out what the build date of the truck is..... If it's after the first of march the only thing you can do is dpf delete/ unplug egr and possibly a edge box.

If it is a march-current09 truck then you have a locked ECM, thus your screwed!! If that's the case join ghe club!! Hopefully you have a pre-march build!!

if he has 25k to spend i dont think a locked ecm will be a problem many ways around that

Considering the money you have and what you intend to do with the truck, you should probably think about a wastegate and head studs.

Im not doubting you but IF you REALLY DO have this amount to work with then,,, Do alot of reading on here and other forums so you get an idea on what you will need. There are alot of little expensive things that alot of us do that you will most likely skip right over. Make sure you research tons of threads so you wont look back and say,, why didnt i do this or why did i buy this....blah blah blah

Twin turbo setup, ARP625's, dual CP3's, 90 or 120hp injectors, different cam and springs, fire ring, upgraded intercooler, suncoast race transmission, Air Dog or FASS fuel system, 5" turbo back, EGR delete, upgraded intake horn and you'd be in the 800-900 hp range. If you want to go farther in the power department, you'll need different rods as you'll put them through the block around 1000hp.

If I was going to spend 33k on a 50k truck????? Why not just find a "diesel performance" shop with a Bullydog or Banks banner hanging on the front and just give him the truck and the money. Just tell him make it the "baddest truck in town". That's what I would do.:hehe:

for that kinda money he can get a 5.9 ecm and have it completly costom built and make a monster of a truck with none of the head aches the sky is the limit i wish i had that kinda dough to spend on my truck holly crap:drool2:

if you buy a pre bootloaded ecm HS has starscans and whatever else but they can match it all to your truck NOT A PROBLEM!!

I definetly would go with the 6.7 if you want to build it up, to me look how many 5.9s are built id like something new and different basically any one with a 5.9 will say oh F the 6.7 and any 6.7 guy for most part say F the 5.9....They both sweet thats for sure but Iam totally glad i got a 6.7!!!!

Where is the best place to buy a pre bootloaded ecm and HS as in H&S

I did see awhile back on ebay going for not too much 400 bucks or so but i havnt seen em since, H&S yes, and sometimes they may have some laying around or have ways to find some that they may sell and trade out... Cause my buddy had one go bad and warrantied it at dealer they gave him a locked ecm so thats what H&S basically told him so i know they can be of assistance
