Low numbers on my 06 and can't figure out why...

Well I've dynod my truck twice, two diff dynos and same horsepower on both. Even had les drive on one of them to see if it was maybe just me.. I feel my numbers are lower than they should be..

It's made 639 1140 twice +/- 10hp ..

Truck

2006 cummins 3500 cclb
G56 w/ southbend 3600
Efi live via les at silverbullet tuning
Airdog165 w/ 1/2" lines to both cp3s
Ppe dual fuelers w/ dmax top pump
II dual feed line
Steedspeed 2nd gen style
Borgwarner s366
5" exhaust
5" intake to afe filter
150hp injectors
Springs
Studs
Pushrods
3angle valve grind
03-04 pistons
Etc...

I feel my numbers are low, truck runs flawless.. Pulls hard all the way and never misses a best... From what I've seen on here and talking with les I should be around 700-750.. It won't brake 640hp.. What am I missing?

I take it your rail pressure is fine? Who's injectors are you running and were they tested? Have you checked for boost leaks? Are you running big tires? Just throwing out some questions so others can chime in. At least your numbers are consistent. :confused013:

Rail is perfect, doesn't drop at all, injectors are extrude hone 150hp with about 10k on them and the new bodies, no boost leaks, tires..... Yes lol 37-13.5-20 on a 20x12

Does running bigger tires cause lower hp numbers on a dyno? I have no clue

^Manuals are more rare to dyno poorly. Manuals are also more subject to operator error when drag racing. Even with a great drive a manual gives up at least 1/2 second and a few mph to an auto of equal power. Usually its more like a full second and 5+mph.

Interesting. Subbing in to watch. Dyno'ing in 5th? I agree those numbers are low. That setup reads like its good to max out that 66 somewhere around or above 750. The tuning is such that is calling for full fueling? Is it smokey? What are the specs on the 66? At what revs is it making the peak numbers?

Trap speeds don't usually differ that much. That's a true indication of horsepower. I had a 2.2 60 ft and ran a mid 12 but still trapped 121 at one point.

That does seem a little low. I dynoed 896hp with a 67.7 and 150s on dans diesel performance dyno.
LOL dans diesel performance dyno

6spd or not, track will tell you something.. I just saw. 11.68 fri night at test&tune... It was a dually, with the single tire set up, 6spd.. He trapped at 120mph.....that mph says alot.
See^

It is a dmax pump but I'm only running 9psi lift pump pressure because of the pump. Lift pump is a brand new airdog 165 with 1/2" lines..

Search "quest for 700hp" in this forum it's a build up of my truck.. Lots of problems we have found already and I guess it isn't over yet
I run 17-18 on my dmax top pump and have never had an issue, I actually want to raise it a tad.

It's smokey down low then cleans up on top end, one was a mobile Dyno and today was a loaded Dyno but I may have been blowing thru the brakes.. Dyno graphs are smooth and look good, just low. Two completely diff dynos and exactly the same hp just seems weird unless both aren't loading on top end I guess.. If u have Instagram I have a video of my pull mattlosch17

I was seeing 50-52 psi which I believe is about correct for the 66..

And yes 5th gear pulls.. Track times won't really tell me much as it's a 6spd and pretty big...

There wasn't much diff between two gears... Only thing I can think of is the "loaded" Dyno wasn't holding under higher hp and I was blowing thru the brakes so essentially both dynos were non load??

First Dyno was Jefferson state mobile Dyno at the Nhrda here in Woodburn Oregon, where les drove my truck on the Dyno.. Second was at DFI performance here in Oregon on a "loaded" Dyno do not know the brand think dynojet? Was super old inground Dyno..

The turbo is a s366? Three years old purchased from manning Motorsports don't remember all the specs on it but believe its a 66/73 .91 t4

So first Dyno was at the Nhrda and was a dynojet

Second Dyno was a Dyno dynamics

Truck we are workin with

Seems weird that a 66 could clean up 150's on the top end... How's your cp3 supply pressure under full load? What do egt get to at the top end full load?

IMO 150's should be able to melt down a 66 on a hot tune... If not, then it's not getting full fuelling.

Honestly never looked at egts on the run, and I'm sure les is having it fuel hard but not for sure on that.. He was even surprised on my numbers

Since all the pulls finish at the same peak HP I don't think its dyno loading. What rail pressure and duration is he commanding? I also think knowing EGT's would help. So far its all looking like it just wants more fuel. I know you said you trusted the 150's but maybe they are on the small side of 150?

And dyno's that don't show RPM are super frustrating to me. :banghead:
