So i talked to bob today and will have my smarty by friday hopfully..
He's sending me one with mild trq management.. so I don't fry the tranny.

My truck as of right now is stock except the banks six gun, which I plan on taking out.
I'm probably going to need a tq converter and valvebody asap...how much $ am I looking for the parts and install? or is it easy to do myself in my driveway?

I know I'm going to be fooling around with the smarty and beating up the truck even though it has 30K miles on it.

Do yourself a favor and do the valvebody RIGHT NOW. It will save you buying a $350 master overhaul kit and replacing all your clutches, steels, seals, and rings... and maybe the forward band (2nd gear). Set your front band at a tight 3/8" clearance while your valve body is out. If you wait, you will need a convertor, valve body, and the overhaul kit and about 6 hrs bench time plus 3 hrs each way to remove/reinstall the trans. Pay now, or pay alot more later.

Go to MADS Electronics (the manufacturer) to learn more on the smarty.

You can download all sorts of different fueling and torque management options from the Mads Electronics downloads page.

Discount is right. The VB is the single most important upgrade to do to the transmission when adding power. It will help keep the converter from slipping in lock up and help the clutches wear less and reduce the possibility of slipping. Shifts will be a bit firmer (this is good) and you will have a firmer lock up.

You'll love your new smarty!

Load it on 3 or 5 witch ever you decide I am running 3 (stock tranny) and the give the Smarty to your wife and tell her not to give it back to you until you do your tranny mods.
