what size wheels, alot of the 52's with 16cm housing are 40/50 hybrids and are a 63/65/16 which make for a really nice charger.

 

im not 100% sure on the wheel size since i dont have a mic to measure it, but it does have a 16 stamped in the t-4 flange, i would like to put this on my truck if it were streetable.. have a garrett too but has a t-6 foot im pretty sure n would like to just get rid of that one to pay for parts to make this work on my truck as a dd. any advice?

 

If you could spring the money something like BD tow twins or even the R700 twins would be much more streetable. My kenworth at work runs an HX-55 on a 10.8 liter cummins. Something that big would be good for sled pulling maybe but my two cents is twins would be much more fun on the street.

 

I've been playing around with the Pro52 on my 3rd-gen truck for a while and really liked it as a sled pulling charger. I had 90hp stiks and a haisley street cam and it did not lite til 1700rpm. I would not run one with a stock cam and you will definitely need a lot of fuel to make it lite.

 

pro52 is a 67/72/17 if i remember right.

 

so id say it would be streetable?..i have enough fuel for it, (pushed 400 flat with stock charger) id guess my charger limited me to my horse since 400 n seeing 41psi here n there with a stock hx35 is pushing it..

ill try n get a mic for it on monday, looks like it would take a 5inch downpipe..

 

its possible, theres 1000's of different holsets, but i havent seen a 16cm housing with a 5" v band.

 

Will a 5" downpipe fit between the framerail and tranny though? Its pretty darn tight with the 4".

 

no, you have to make a reducer or ovalize the tubing in that area

 

or get a body lift... makes lots of room

 

i have a 5'' down pipe, silverline was nice enough to make a huge dint in it for me.

 

crusing it in a vise or press always looks cleaner than smashing it w/ hammer, but whatever works.

 

it looks like it was done with a press or bender. none the less i was horribly dissapointed.

someone posted this on diesel bombers saying its a hx52 non wastegated t-4 with volvo casted into it... how would these specs sound for a dd? with a good amount of fuel of coarse, have 200+ injectors n juice now..what else would i need to make this streetable, wastegate bov etc?-scott

You will not need a bov unless you are turning high r's however you will need a cam to get more air flow for faster spool-up. You are gonna love the 52 if you build your engine to run it--I'm talkin from experience!!! If you have a machine shop nearby do yourself a favor and have the exhaust outlet machined to except an hx40 4" down pipe.:thumbsup:

Daily Driving a big turbo doesn't require alot of fuel.

Daily driving is how managable the smoke is. With 200+hp injectors, the smoke will be pretty big.

I made 430HP with Mach 4.8 injectors, and a factory turbo...

With 4.10's, you might be ok.

Still a big turbo for a VP 24v. Get better airflow, and you could DD it.

I ran mine with a bone stock 3rd-gen head and a haisley street/puller cam. The 3rd-gen 24v head has a lot better air flow than the 2nd-gen 24v due to a more open intake and intake runner design.

oh, id most likely keep the intercooler, not sure of the benefits of removing it in my application, id really like to just find a good single to run n trade this n the other turbo i have for it or trade a turbo for an aftermarket exhaust manifold etc. dam nothins movin these days lol all i want is an aaftermarket exhaust manifold n a good single street turbo. :S:

 

too bad i got the 66 all mocked set up for the twins, i woulda traded it for the 52 and some cash
