I have an 08 2500 cummins and my selector switch for my HVAC vents has been acting right. When I try to switch back and forth between the defrost, dash, and floor vents it takes about 30 seconds before the vents actually change. Not sure if the problem is in the controller or the vent doors. Anyone have any ideas of what it could be?

I would tend to put my guess on the mechanical issue with the doors. Sounds like the command is there, but issues with the doors. There is a known problem with the doors cracking/breaking.

I wish I could give you details, but luckily I haven't run into HVAC door issues myself yet. However, I have read about them and what people do. Some just figure out how to remove some of them and live with it and others have a couple sources for aftermarket ones that are better/stronger. Probably just have to do some search and read.

Holy GloNdark the links are awesome, found that this summer the hvac was making some switching sounds, meaning I could hear the air from the vents etc. changing but what did notice lately was that there was a loud roaring from the glove box area like the recirculate was on and not much air coming out of the defrost when the switch control was on defrost! Fooled around with the selector and finally the door must have shifted and closed 'cause there was air coming out of defrost and a lot quietter! Maybe there is a issue with the doors , will have to look into it deeper and resolve the issue. The issue.
