I have an 07 with the 6.7 auto, I want to have the high idle you set with the cruise buttons engaged. Is there some number or program I can tell my dealer because when I tell them I want it activated they have no idea what Im talking about. Thanks

On my '07 6.7 the high idle comes on only when its cold out, i hit the exhaust brake switch for faster warm up. I haven't tryed hitting the cruise button but i will try and that may work.

The dealer has to use the STARSCAN tool to enable it for you.........what cummins90 is talking about is standard when it gets really cold it comes on automatically and puts the rpms at 1000 even..........manual high idle that the dealer has to enable for you will go to 1100 rpms and then you can up it to 1500 using the accel/resume button and then you can bring it back down using the decel button (cruise control buttons)........hope that explains it clear enough......Oh yeah to set it you just hit cruise on the push set.

It appears that you have no clue what Starscan can do or where to find it. Alot of vehicle functions are not enabled at the factory, they must be enabled by tech's that know what they are doing. If it's enabled it is as simple as this. Start the engine, close the door, foot off all pedals, parking brake NOT set. Turn cruise on, hit set, then accel to raise engine speed. It will go back to idle when you press the brake, turn cruise off, or are dumb enough to put it in gear while in high idle.:T:

Don't go in and ask for "High Idle" ask them to turn on the PTO Idle up. This will tell them to look under the PTO Option in the starscan just like Ram3500Dually said.

My dealer was cool. When they did the recall few months back, they turned it on for me and told me how to use it without me asking.

Now I live in Floida!!! When do we see 30 degree weather?!?!?!

Either way, gosh I luve that jet plane sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah my closest dealer quoted me 1.5 hours ($135) to do it. lol. takes them at most 10minutes to do. when i was back up near my selling dealership, about 1 hour away, they did it for free. i would expect to pay $30 bucks or so at a dealer i didn't purchase from. but most just want to stick it to you. dodge needs to have these trucks enabled from the factory. it's a great feature that can prevent several costly problems.

I'm not sure what the G30 recall is...If that's the O2 sensor replacement an d reflash, then the Superchips 3808 will work. I had the recall done and I am running the tuner right now.
Tuner works great, I couldn't be happier. Milage did not improve much though but BIG improvement in power.
BTW, I've not done any of the other flashes...If it aint broke, I'm not going to fix it.

Pardon me? I know EXACTLY what the starscan can do. You have to enable the high idle with the starscan in the first place. If the tech has never found it before in the starscan it is hard to find. Its in the export section under PTO idle up.
Reading is a wonderful thing if you can do it right :)

i took my truck into the dealer on tuesday because my CEL would not go out. They restored the ECM and put the latest flash update on, it was the AX flash. There was an update out from what my dealer told me, the g30 was done in december when it was released.

Did you actually READ what I said?
Oh, and for the record. I just retired after 30 years at Chrysler and have had more CTD's then you have probably driven :D :D :D

I have a 07 6.7 standard, is it true that I can not use the high idle option because it is a standard. I had it activated at a dealer and when it didn't work, they called me back and said that I would need to add an idle switch. Does this sound right?
no, your dealer i suppose is partially correct. you don't have to buy anything extra for the manual tranny. you can get a clutch switch, but it is really unneccesary. look through my other posts and you'll find where i have written about how to do it on the manual. i've done it, so i do know. if you can't find the threads, let me know.

Mastercrafter.....the dealer tried to activate mine last weekend and it didn't take. I would appreciate help in figuring it out. Live in AK and a fast idle would be great.
