How many hours do you got on your Cummins? I'll start it off with 6,752 hrs. Odometer reads 222,000 miles but it's had bigger tires for about 170,000 of those miles. Can't really calculate my mph.

Make sure the OD reading is displaying on the display, not the trip miles. Turn the key on without starting and then push and hold the trip button down until the hrs nnnn displays on the readout. It takes 5-10 seconds, you will see the trip number until the hrs display.

Didn't know you could check this either. That's pretty cool. I've got 2044 Hrs. w/ 60058 Mi. About 30 MPH Avg.

This is why I always change oil by the HOUR and not by by the mile.... HUGE difference. 250 Hours per drain. These motors should last at least 10,000 hours, IMHO. I don't see why a poperly maintained motor could not reach 25,000 hours without failure.

aww hell my boss has a 4450 with 15k on an aftermarket tach... wonder how many the stocker reads???

There is a difference. I'm betting the 'aftermarket' tach reads "power on" as time. Our trucks do not start 'engine time' until the engine is running. Go give it a try. Turn your key switch on and check the hours, turn off key switch. Now, turn the key back on(do not start truck) and walk away for an hour. Tell me what the hours are when you get back. They should be the same as before.

If I can get well over 10k hours out of a GM 350 gas motor then these Diesels should double that, at least.
