It seems we are getting one thing fixed just in time for another thing to let go. Or we are on a continuous journey to find and fix a noise or a problem. I say lets list the problems and their status. I feel it will be a way to vent and laugh at all of our problems. This should include everything we have already fixed.

1-front end warping sound. Aligned axle with adj. C.A.'s,
Lucas Oil in the pumpkin, STILL UNFIXED!
2-front end wander- new trac bar and some other bar also, new steer. stablizer. STILL UNFIXED!
3-worn ball joints- put new ball joints in and my tires still leaned inward. Had to take everything back apart and get the Moog adjustable ball joints. FINALLY FIXED!
4-steering is difficult when not moving- New steering gear, adjusted steering gear. STILL UNFIXED!
5-Front tires too close to rear of fender, not center.- Put on some super tough adjustable CA's from Dunks Perf. and moved it forward. FIXED!
6-Cracked dash-No attempts to fix yet.
7-lighter just pulled out of dash- no attempts to fix yet.
8-LP failure- relocated with stock and new psi gauge, gauge saved me warrantied LP and added a pro comp. FINALLY FIXED! @ 20psi now
9-Broken transfercase chain and case- why would Dodge put a t-case that has a capacity that is less than what the truck weighs? STILL UNFIXED!
10-super fast 2-3 shift-adjusted bands-FIXED
11-OD won't shift @ WOT- adjusted TV cable- STILL UNFIXED.
12-tranny started slipping-drained all fluid, blew all fluid out of lines and put in 11 quarts of atf 4 and 1 lucas. Did not fix. Cleaned all grounds and that was it. FIXED!
13-leaking driverside axel oil seal-STILL UNFIXED!
14-sticky release on hood latch. FIXED after my hood flew up and bent my hood latches because the release was stuck up.
15- VP44 died 148 miles away on a friday evening! After hotel room, rental car to drive home the next day and then the drive back and then home again total of 2400 bucks later it's... FIXED!
16- Alignment- after 3 different shops aligning it is at least bearable. SOMEWHAT FIXED!
17-driverside seat adjuster bar broken- STILL UNFIXED!
18- Oh, I am waiting for #18! 18 showed up! speed sensor went out so I replaced it.
I forgot a few so I am adding to my BOOK!
19-clock spring went out-FIXED
20-fuel sending unit went out-FIXED
21-return line check valve went out, not knowing it at the time I almost had a new VP put in. Good thing my dad found it was leaking.- FIXED
22- I am now waiting or trying to remember #22.... Oh Yey!

That's what I'm talking about. :hehe: It's nice to see that I am not crazy but these trucks love to break down in the worst places. Oh yeah, and when I blew my VP out of town I had to get towed by a powerstroke to a diesel shop. Driving in my rental car following my truck I said I am glad this happened out of town so that none of my friends could see my truck get towed by a P-joke.

Lets see, headlight switch starting to act up, though the dreaded P0216 code last week, one power seat motor not working, right headlight has moisture in it, rearend make a popping noise when going in reverse at low speeds, cracked windshield and just last night the rear view mirror cracked.

#16 ·
tick, tick, tick your clock is ticking:buttkick:

#10 ·
rearend make a popping noise when turning in foward or reverse at low speeds
needs tie rods and a better designed steering box
seat motor quit dash trim bezle is broke
quadzilla's FP sender says 3 psi at idle and as soon as u get on it it says 14 psi (junk)
hi beam light on dash stays on with headlights off (no idea) searched for hrs looking for a reason why

gets 10MPG 100 % biodiesel and 13 on diesel

#17 ·
As for your clunking noise in the rearend. Drain all your oil and replace it with some good fluid meant for the limited slip rear end. You can then add an additive also if you want and it kind of acts as an adjustment if you will. Then just add it till you like how sticky or "clunky" you want it.
The guy that had my truck before me must have put regular stuff in because I had one wheel peel till I did what I just wrote above.

Hmmm...

Just replaced shocks all the way around...

Just replaced the clutch hydraulics (master & slave units)...

No steering issues...

No engine issues...

No driveline or transmission issues...

VP44 is closing in on 100K miles and still going strong...

No error codes...

Getting 15-17 MPG in the winter and 21-23 MPG in the summer...

Maybe I'm just lucky... :confused013: :hehe:

Heated Seats? I thought my truck had all the options. Where is the switch to turn them on located? :banghead:

#13 ·
The 6" stack that's 3 weeks old gives me a headache:banghead:...............................but it's still cool!

#22 ·
Lets hear about your problems. We don't care about your "wants" here!:lol4:

#26 ·
1) Replaced dead battery last weekend so that's good now.
2) Passenger Side Lower Balljoint is going, but not excessive yet.
3) Windshield has 2ft crack, low and outa view.

Not bad for 2002 4x4 3/4ton with 125,000.

#27 ·
Not bad at all krazymoon, not bad at all. Do you have any mods or are you stock?

Just has the mileage max and 4" exhaust from turbo to tip. edit: oh forgot, put the BHAF on it too. Was real lucky, the guy I got it from babied it and pulled a horse trailer on occasion. Gave 16,7k for it to pay off his loan. I do believe he told me that the first year he had it he had the fuel pump issue and the dealer ripped it completely out and installed new. He said corporate wanted all parts to analyze the problem.

Not the best pic, I put a hard tonneau and tube side steps on it since.

Sorry, back on topic one other thing I forgot is brokeneedfixing is the sunglass holder in the over head (cant' figure out where to get it) and the spring on my middle console. :)

3. Misc. leaks need to be fixed.
4. Need rear u-joints.
5. Blew my rail pressure relief valve a couple days ago. Need a rail cap and a rail pressure gauge.
6. Need to fix a hanger on my exhaust.
7. Need to fix my empty wallet. :banghead:

Ok, I know I prolly should not post in here about my turck, but i thought i would so you could see what other truck are having issues with.

my truck is a 2004 duramax lb-7

its had 4 sets of injectors

guage cluster
driver side hub and inner tierod end.
I.C. pipe due to power steering lines rub threw.
that might make some of you guys happy

I just got sick today out of the blue. But, you just made me feel better.

I've had to repair or have someone repair on mine...

VP44 (Intank pump was put in at the same time, all under warranty)

Gov Pressure solenoid and transducer (warranty)

Rebuilt the front steering (It needed ball joints and tie rods so I decided to do it right the first time and replace everything)

Resealed the Vacuum Pump

New driveshaft u-joints

New belt, batts, alt, tensioner, and water pump.

Two brake jobs

On my third set of tires now

Truck has 146K miles on it now, been pretty good to me. Most of the stuff I replaced I knew it would need eventually.

170,000 and my tranny is starting to go out. time to start saving for georend!
every mother with small children on my street loves to assault me when i creep by at 5mph claiming i am driving wrecklessly

#52 ·
:hehe: I know exactly what your talking about! I get people running down their driveway at me yelling to slow down. I have learned to stop now and that kind of startles them, I shut the truck off and stick my head out the window and tell them to not mistake LOUD with FAST I was going 30 and that is the speed limit. Start the truck and go. No problems for awhile now.
