Ok i have a gas powered 360 in a 1989 dodge 250 and i bought a complete front half of a 1991 dodge ram 250 with the cummins in it and im wanting to move the cab, front clip and engine over to the gasser frame. I was just wondering what would it take to move the engine over and the cab? Im wanting to intercool it which i already have an intercooler from a second gen and then i also want to put an hx35 turbo on.

Well, lets get this squared away for the other guys who will chime in on what you want to do,

#1 you have a 1989, W250 (W=4x4) 360cid gas engine complete truck and running gear?

#2 you have a front clip including Cummins Engine from a D250 (D=2 wheel drive) was this a automatic or manual truck?

#3 is your 1989 W250 a manual shift? or automatic trans? What kind of trans do you want in your finished truck?

i'm not sure on the output shaft spline counts of the nv4500 or nv5600, but if your 1989 has an np205 transfer case, then it should be a 23 spline. whatever trans/transfer case you end up going with, just gotta make sure they are the same spline count on the input/output shafts.

your w250 gasser will have a dana 44 front and dana 60 rear. the rear will hold up fine, the front will be tested to the max with the weight and power of the cummins. depending on how you use the truck, you'll want to decide whether it's necessary to go to a dana 60 front or stay with the 44.

nv4500 diesel is 29 spline shaft. nv4500 gasser is 23 spline shaft. nv5600 is 29 spline shaft. early nv5600s are very very hard to get parts for. get a late version if you go that route. a g56 would be a better choice if you go 6sp. you can get a 23 to 29 spline adaptor from shs diesel for around 170 bucks.
