factory injector life

I have a 16 2500 with the G56. I had to have a new shock replaced at roughly 5k miles, after 3 tries at the local dealer to fix I ended up with a new tranny at 7k miles, now I just had the #4 injector replaced at 50k miles. All has been covered under warranty but wow, when I purchased this truck new 2 years ago I wouldn't have thought I would have these types of issues. Anyone else loose an injector with similar miles?

My '06 had injector issues in the first 30K miles. My '14 has been pretty good for 119K miles so far although I am starting to have a little rough idle on cold starts now. I think these HPCR injectors are a crap shoot.

Every part of the truck has been cheapened in my mind. I think we stand a good chance against all odds as the CP3 pump appears robust and I think if you use a decent, quality fuel with the correct filtration, your injectors may actually survive.

This is anecdotal of course.

I agree on the filtration......but there’s always a select few that always seem to want to reinvent the mousetrap by modifying the 2013 fuel filtration systems with that goofy CAT setup.

With that being said....my 2014 RAM 3500 was running great on OEM injectors at trade-in time at 362k miles. The fuel filters were serviced by the book during warranty and outside warranty as well.

sounds like youre hard on gear LOL

How many hours on that thing? 50k for a 2016 is pretty low if its getting used daily, and if thats the case its probably got quite a few hours

HPCR injectors are finicky beasts, they typically go 10-20k/hours when treated well, but it only takes one tank of dirty fuel or bad fuel filter change or an overheat and they will fail
