Ditching my bulldog for hpp and am on the fence between the two.

Don't really like the fact that you have to use a mount for your phone (and use your phone) vs the in pillar mount for the cts2, but I also don't need to stare at my gauges everytime i drive my truck since i tow rarely. The wireless factor, price (vs cts2 & autocal) and ease of the ez lynk is tempting. But just having a built in and forget it system like the cts2 is nice too.

Just looking for thoughts since its been out for a bit now and guys had some time with them, get annoying using your phone everytime? having to have a charger cable plugged in all the time?

thanks in advance!

For what it’s worth the EZ Lynk comes with a mount. I just use an old iPhone 6 I had laying around. I don’t always use it for gauges, I have ISSPro Boost and EGT on the pillar also.

I like the ease of use, wireless updates, and range of things you can monitor with the EZ Lync as well. Much better tuning option than what I’ve used in the past (H&S, Smarty)

That would be a good way to go, kinda best of both words situation. I like that and the idea of using an old phone. Would be kinda annoying replying to a text or looking up and address (while stopped at a red light of course ;) and having to reopen the app and set it in the stand every time. So can just be a wiped, no SIM card nothing phone but connected to WiFi through the ez link?

Once it installs you don’t need the phone anymore unless you want gauges on it.

So yes. You can just install it and forget it as you put it.

I actually have both the CTS2 with Dash Pod Mount AND a stellar Phone Mount
(After trying at least 4-5 different models I finally found something which actually sticks to my "textured" dash!) --Pics coming here in a few minutes. Need to go outside to take a couple for ya here. Personally, I'm a huge Edge Lover, and the CTS2 is perfectly stationed right there at a glance for anything. Love that you can configure the Screen for whatever readouts you wish to monitor too!

**Pics of all my "Dash Gear" From Left to Right

- CTS2

-Uniden R3 Radar Detecto

-Samsung Note 8 Phone on Mount spoke of above (No Idea what brand)

Yes- it does appear like a cluttered / obstructed view upon first glance. However, from the Driver POV it does not block anything from view. IMHO = Its the perfect Layout with just about everything a Cummins Driver would ever need! :stirpot:

This is quite the set up! Looks like a view for someone that runs rig for a living. It is out of view, but still a little much for me. Just my opinion, nothing against ya!

CTS2 Power !!

Love the look HawkEye!

As we both know (Proud CTS2 Owners) - We are able to choose from a HUGE variety of Screen Layouts on this gear. However, perhaps you can identify what those two other Gauges are that sit to the right of the CTS2 Unit brother?

If we can create a Virtual World using our CTS2's- what extra purpose do those Gauges provide you, if I may ask? Wouldn't you be able to replicate them on the Monitor - or do they really Pop for you being positioned there?

**I've used the same Screen Layout you have before myself. However, I chose to use more of the extra abilities we can add to the screen -know what I mean?

I switched from Bully Dog to EZ-Lynk. I still use the Bully Dog for the gauges since I had it pillar mounted and have the pyro. I like that the Bully Dog is fairly small but still gives me the monitoring that I like. I was not a fan of using my phone all the time but do like the option of connecting and updating whenever I want.

I considered this, but for the cost of the bullydog I could sell it and still have some change left over after buying the cts2. Going to lose a little money either way switching to hpp.

Assuming the answer is yes, but a feature is the auto defuel when your outside the set limits. Like if your egt’s or boost go higher then the limit you set. Does the app have to be open for this feature? Or it will still do it automatically and you just won’t see it happening
