Exhaust cut out instead of DPF delete?

Here's a crazy idea, what about instead of doing a DPF/CAT delete changing the down pipe, installing a Y-pipe with a 12volt cut out. You could just push a button and have free flow exhaust keeping the DPF/cat so you can pass emissions.

Just wondering because the hot rodders have been putting them in for years.

You would still need the tuner, but it is feasible, unless the look under your truck.

:hehe: that's why I was saying hook up a Y-pipe, so it'd be a dual exhaust, and when I go for emissions I just tell the guy it's hooked up that way for when I go to the track.

We only have to do emissions every two years so, I'll see how tough it is to get a inspection done.

Here's a look at the part, I haven't been able to find anything bigger then 3" other wise I would have done this instead of a delete.

My buddy was telling me to do it this way, so I wouldn't have to get a dirty e-test. I was in a rush though.

Just wondering because up north we have no e-test ... yet anyhow.

I'm half way between Hamilton and Toronto. Mine is a personal truck so I can probably just get a mobile guy to come by, it's just a visual. For Commercial, they can be pricks they took a gun to my buddies exhaust.

It used to be south of highway 9 Orangville. There's some areas in cottage country where you have to have it done.because people were using those address for registration.

ha I've spent most of my life building cottages in and around "cottage country" ... I'm a little north and you're right ... even up here if you plate your truck as commercial then you have to e-test. I wonder how many trees it takes to make up for the exhaust our vehicles pump out ... up here the trees to humans ratio is about a billion to one.

Off topic, I just found the Ontario forum here ... should check it out ... believe there is a meet down your way soon.
