I'm looking to rebuild my 05 Cummins, is there any recommendations on affordable engine stands I can purchase to be able to easily do a tear down?

I believe his user name is "island" but he built a pretty cool one. I'll see if i can find the thread where there is pictures of it. So if you're able to, building one would be fun.

Even if you buy a stand and need to customize it, you don't need a welder, you can get away with drilling holes and using fasteners.

Like the above posts, I've heard the harbor freight stand is good.

If you plan to put the pieces together yourself, another forum member to ask is Broncowilly, he did a 5.9 rebuild and rigged up a good stout stand.

All I have to say is injectorsdirect.com

Get the right year injectors.. Get them brand new. Get new tubes. Also a good idea to change the FCA because it's probably tired at this point too. Can't really rebuild the injectors without replacing all the parts, which just leaves you with a new injectors.

If you want to spring for the best money can buy, BBi sells really nice injectors. Also a chance to add a pinch of power.

I use a harbor Freight 4 leg stand but make sure to bolt the engine on the side of the block where the motor mount goes. Otherwise it will just rip the threads out the back and fall off the stand and kill your family. Bolted on the side it's balanced well and you can easily flip it over by hand. I also made a mistake by using a screwdriver for the pin since I couldn't find a bolt at the time. Engine weighed enough to cut the screw driver in Half and off she went onto the ground. Nothing broke besides my pride.

Here is one that I made. Still waiting for my block to get back, so I can make my engine mount plates. None the less, this will rotate the engine end over end. I will have a big breaker bar to rotate. The stand is made out of almost 40’ of 1.75 .120 wall tube, and 1.5” .250” wall slugs. PLENTY strong and cheap.
