I'm a Mfr rep & I average 35k a year, my 2013 Ram Sport QC averages 17.5mpg. My typical day (commute) is driving an hour or two to my destination then pick up a salesman to call on his customers then drop him off so I can head home, making 8-10 customer visits during the day with my salesman. I bought the truck new & in the three years I've put on 99k.
We just picked up a new TT & it's time to upgrade the truck for something with more payload. My original thought is to grab one of the new F150's with the 3.5EB but I hate leaving the Ram family. I'd really love a 2500 but in the last 99k with the Sport I've towed 2100 miles so I'm averaging about 700 a season.
I own the truck & my company pays for the fuel so mileage around where I am right now is fine, obviously better than that would be great but I don't see it happening. I also insure, inspect & pay for my own maintenance on the truck so cost per mile is a factor for me. So is this possible? Upgrading to a 2500 with decent mileage & maintenance costs?
