If my cp3 was weak or not strong enough would it cause a hesitation when u mash the pedal i just installed 90 hp sticks and i have a diablo sport predator and puck with bd special and it has been throwing a fuel delivery code and yes i did cap the rail because the overflow valve was bad but that did not fix it. It doesnt have white smoke when it does this it just coughs and then goes on and yes new air dog with filter.

Ok wait, are you capping the rail without a RP gauge!? I know you are new so go into your profile and fill out your sig please. Also welcome to the forum!

Well the Special will cause some lag, I am sure you know what that is so are you sure thats not it? With mine if I just punch it from a standstill with no brake appied the truck will just pour smoke untill the Special hits 10PSI and then it shoots to 45PSI quick and clears up the smoke. Between that 0-10PSI it will hesitate some because you are dumping a ton of fuel in without enough air.

Again, if you are running a capped rail go order a RP gauge quick before you blow your injectors, and make sure that Airdog stays on with super clean filters.

sorry bout the sig thing ill fill it out if i can figure out how but anyways nope its not turbo lag i wish it was its like its not gettin enough fuel at first like it studders then it picks up and goes on and yea i heard bout the rail cap thing being dumb i just wanted to try it to see that would help since my overflow valve was leaking

In a totally honest opinion I would not get on the gas at all untill you get a gauge. For all you know your rail could be at 35,000PSI+.

It is probably just too much fuel and not enough air when you first get on it. Shouldn't be too much to worry about in that area. Only way to tell is to get a RP guage and see what it reads at all throttle levels.

well on my predator it says bout 22k or so but it doesnt say if thats set pressure or actual pressure thats at bout 2500 rpms give or take does that make sense

22k at WOT is not that bad, but with a capped rail you should be seeing around 27k psi at least. I would say your CP3 is going down the crapper based on that.

hahah ok i sound like a dumba$$ i got ya rail pressure gauge i thought it was a brand first

i thought bout buying that arson kit do u think my factory cp3 could just not be strong enough or its about to puke also if its getting weak will the arson kit help or am i out of luck and gotta fork for a complete upgrade i guess thats why it throws a p0148 "fuel delivery" maybe the cp3 is not keeping up

well i know i had a problem with my cp3 i had to take the wot reading at wot under load which mean driving but it was with the mpa reading.... the problem with mine was the solenoid on the back of the cp3 i didn't have the same problem you had...i have been apart of a truck built though that had been hopped up so much that when you first would get on it, it would do what sounded like a knock would happen but when the turbos were fully spooled up the extreme black smoke would disappear and the truck would take off like a bat out of hEll.

yea i know what your saying but those 90hp nozzles wouldnt be that bad would they if they are then how do these guys run the 200s

#20 ·
... Larger turbos and 200hp nozzles are basically track only with dual CP3s....

#21 ·
ok another question if u went with bigger turbo then u would have more lag and if u had 200hp nozzles u are goin to have a lot more fuel dumped at once which looks to me like be alot of flooding engine with fuel till those big turbos spooled up i dunno maybe just where i was used to the factory turbo spooling fast ill prob just have to ease in the throttle more

stock cp3 will support 50 hp injectors but most sites say to upgrade or mod your cp3 for 90hp or larger injectors arson kit might help, i also believe they will inspect/test it for you if you send it in, but it does sound like turbo lag, or your draining the rail and then it catches back up, does this hesitation only happen from a dead stop with no boost, if there is little to no hesitation say once you have 5 to 10 psi of boost like cruzin hwy speed its probly turbo lag if have hesitation any time you go wot your probly draining the rail thats where arson3 and maybe a dual feed line would come in, at least with arson3 if you did buy a upgraded pump from them later you would save $400 off your pump

it very well could be turbo lag but i didnt think turbo lag would throw a p0148 thats why i was leaning towards cp3 problems
