I was wondering if anyone tried the key trick on the 6.7. I tired the 3Xs on off on off on. starting with the on position and it dosent seem it work. I got a check engine light that came on during a road trip yesterday and I forgot my flashpaq at home. When I leave the key in the on position the engine icon does flash 8xs but I cant getit to spit any codes...any help would be greatly appsheated. It seems to run be running great I am almost thinking its a bad tank of fuel

On my 07 6.7, i just cycle the keyswitch on and off 3 times, but leave it on the third time. watch the odometer. if there is a code, it will show there, otherwise it will display a "------------" for about 8-10 seconds and then display "--done--"

Get in and close door. Cycle key to run position (the one before start) three times and on the third leave it there. If you have no codes you will see ------------- for a couple of seconds where the odometer usually is.

I tried and tried to get mine to work and this finally worked to display the code mine was showing:

Close all doors, set the parking brake then cycle the key from off to on (where all the lights come on the dash) 3 times. On the third time leave it on.

the key to all your DPF problems or anything with the 6.7 is to drive it back to your dealership and trade it in for a 2007 5.9. or just drive of a cliff from what i heard about these new 6.7 with all this emmisions crap, should of waited a year or two. 5.9 rule

You heard wrong. Funny how its mostly 5.9 guys that say the 6.7 is junk. The early 07.5's were problematic but the late 07's and the 08's are much better. There are lots of 08's running around that haven't had a problem including me.

The 6.7 will run circles around the 5.9 and will pull the 5.9 around the block backwards so fast you would get dizzy :D

Oh ya, I've owned 8 CTD's in 18 years and the 6.7 is by far a superior engine.

Sometime you guys should try honking the horn and flashing the lights simultaneously 30 times. This reset method works best at the dealership. :lol3:
