Does the Ats Arc Flow replace that right angle stock intake mainfold? Just wondering if that is what it is called and if it is worthwhile.

well, from someone who has one, yes worth every penny... with the afe & magnaflow setup & no box, performance was dismal with the stock intake on. once I added the ATS intake, performance is now pretty decent. it still needs a box to really wake it up since I have 33's on there and 3.73 gearing.

I wont be giving mine up anytime soon... :peelout

Yes you should... and now that i'm looking at your setup, I'll soon be having something similar to yours... i've ordered the AT4040 to put in front of my 30" magnaflow muffler. which is a straight thru design. when I added the mag muffler, I lost alot of low end torque, upper end hp went up and it breathed really well past 3k rpms. since I dont race my truck and I dont tow, i'd prefer a balance of low end performance & upper end performance.

my goal is to get a consistant 17 mpg average with plenty of power on tap for when I need it or want it.

as far as the ATS intake goes, I recommend it.

Cat and muffler

There is only one thing that I wonder about with mine. I deleted the cat and have the Aeroturbine AT4040 mated to the stock tailpipe. Do you figure that is causing me any restriction, or did I remove almost all of the resistance to flow with the oem muffler and cat? I notice on the cat back or turbo back systems that they are a little more streamlined at the end near the tailpipe.

I think with the aero muffler & the cat gone, there should be little to no flow resistance. I will be able to tell you in a couple of weeks 1st hand. mine should be here next week and will be installed the next day. then I'll check the mileage against my standard (driving to & from work with cruise set at about 68 mph). if there is a jump in mileage then i'd say there is some backpressure. I'm by no means an exhaust expert, I just make my own conclusions based on what I experience with my tweeking the exhaust.

I tend to agree, I do not believe that a slight bend at the very end of the tailpipe will cause any restriction. The major culprits are the cat and the muffler.
