A rebuild or putting parts into current motor

Ok my motor has 177k on it. Stock internals never been touched. My question is you can pick up a engine block for $1,500-$2,000, should i buy one and do a rebuild on it and add the parts(next sentence).Or should i put parts into mine; Cam, Springs, Pushrods, Studs, Head Porting (maybe 3rd gen swap). The whole 177k and 12yrs old scares me once passing 600 and maybe some giggle gas.

- The truck is a street/strip, no towing
- Everything powertrain is new besides engine

My sentiments also. A brand new build can go astray just as easy as a high milage unit, when being modded.

Remember higher mileage units are a little more "loose" and "loose" lives. Sure you can set them up that way, but if it ain't broke....
If you're worried about it run a Fluidampner, that seems to help a litlte.
