Picked up a 94 2500 manual with 200k in the beginning of January. Good shape, no rust, awful flatbed, couple fix it issues that I’ve been getting around to.

Things I’ve done already:

Tires 235/80/1

Picked up a rust free bed for 200 bucks. Flatbed is for sale if anyone is interested…northern virginia.

AUX tank was the primary tank and the stocker wasn’t used for years. Dropped the tank, cleaned it, and rebuilt and cleaned the sending unit.

Reinstalled the stock tank, replaced all fuel lines with Larry B’s kit. And got rid of the AUX tank. Also for sale.

Replaced stock gear box with a redhead.
Replaced stock steering pump with borgeson high flow pump.
All new lines
New triax synthetic power steering fluid.
Rebuilt/sealed vacuum pump

New Clock Spring
Dropped the 4th gen bumper for a stock one
Spec D lights with his projectors
New rear diff abs sensor
New speedo pinion gear

Things to do:
Fix cruise control.
from the moldings down is getting line x’ d on tuesday
Need a rear bumper
Paint the chrome mirrors

@bneaves2000 i saw your post on another thread about electronic changes and differences between model years.

My cruise control dilemma is of that sort. Truck is a 94 and at some point a 97 cab was installed using the 97 cab harness and the 94 pcm.

Re-wired and cleaned up the previous owners rat nest wiring in the engine bay and fuse box. As much as I hate electric, I was never one to shove wires under a fuse and/or use speaker wire for stuff.

also hooked up some vision x fog lights inbthe factory bumper.

This is the first 1994 truck with a extended cab I've ever seen. I thought 94s only came in regular cabs, and all diesel models had 8 foot beds untill 1998. Guessing the truck is heavily modifed as far as the extended cab and the short bed.

Nice work and good looking truck. It took skill to see potential in that lame looking truck when you 1st got it.

While you have put time and money into it, that rust free, P-pump, NV4500, short box extended cab 4x4 is worth plenty now.

If you run the VIN numbers, is it really a put together truck? Was it really a regular cab truck, now converted with a 1997 extended cab installed?
Just curious, it doesn't affect the value and an extended cab truck is worth way more than a regular cab truck.

Thanks, I'm happy with it.... From what I know (again, finding out more and more) its always been a club cab. But I could totally be wrong...

I cant find a Dodge vin decoder that works for the second gens.

disregard, I found one. Truck was factory regular cab, 8’ bed. I guess more than just the cab was replaced. I can’t find a VIN on the frame. I’m assuming frame and cab were swapped or just the engine/drivetrain was swapped in. Crazy.

It doesn't really matter for a truck that is nearly 30 years old!

Where are you getting the VIN number from? The VIN plate on the dash?

Any evidence of the frame being stretched/spliced/modded? If not, that means the truck's frame is not original either.

Again, it doesn't really matter..

Is there a VIN plate on the dash? Front corner of the dash, driver's side, visible thru the windshield.

No VIN plate on the dash is cause for concern and would cause legal issues here in Canada.

Were you able to transfer/title/register the truck in your state?

There was another member who bought a truck that had a dash swapped in with no VIN plate on it but he found it in the glove box.
There have been other threads, where a used truck turned into a disaster with missing/mismatched VIN numbers.

I recommend to start researching on how to get a replacement VIN plate and attaching to the dash.
On some vehicles there are other VIN plates attached to the front rad support.

Hopefully this doesn't turn into an issue.

Its all tagged and titled here in Virginia. As long as there is a legitimate VIN somewhere on the truck, if/when you get pulled over, virginia isnt worried about it.

The 94 cab was replaced with a 97 cab at some point, so, even if you swapped the vin tag, the rivets wouldnt be intact. Other than the VIN sticker on the jam, I havent found another on the truck.

Ended picking up some synergy parts, tie rod and drag link. Installed and aligned. Steering is complete, it steers like my 4th gen.

didnt end up putting the stabilizer back on and haven’t noticed a difference. Took a 300 mile road trip yesterday with it.

PO gave me some sway bar endlinks and none of them fit. Rebuilt the originals the best I could with the bushings though.
