after my truck runs a regen, egt's go crazy and backdown runs 100% on stock setting even. running a constant speed giving no extra throttle, the turbo begins to spool up to 20psi. and it begins to dump the fuel and egt's hit 1450-1500 running 65mph. also the water temp starts to increase rapidly and drop rapidly. anyone have similar situations, or suggestions?

take the edge off, it it jacking with your stuff, unplug it and everything will be fine. i would throw it away. this is why i dont like them, they are not reliable. talk to edge they will work with you on getting it replaced. they are good people

Mine does it at stock power level just for a couple seconds, then its fine.

carefull, with those egt's 1500 deg. for 15 sec. will do damage.i also have the edge, but 07 5.9 im getting rid of the edge and getting the smarty, its designed to run a little cooler, and is a better unit anyway by far, look it up.

I've had the same problems. When driving down the highway unloaded going 65-70 all the sudden my EGT's jump to 1400-1500 from 1100 or so. It's very sporadic though the Egt's will drop as low as 800 then fly back up to 1500. It seems if I come to a stop the EGts return to normal and most of the time stay functioning right. Doesn't matter what power level i'm on. I don't believe my EGT's are actually jumping around like that I figure the EGT probe or Edge isn't reading properly. I'm going to call them today to see if they have seen this before.

that sounds kinda like what mine is doing, but egt's will continue to climb up and lower down. it does this over and over again, but i can hear the turbo spool up each time so i don't think the probe or box is reading wrong. gonna call edge today.

edge told me they think it is the pickup not their box. they think there is a problem with regen not shutting down. i am stumped at this point. so far it has not done it yet with the edge unplugged.

My buddy had problems with his and it turned out to be a loose connection at the injector connectors. Check all your connections first.

i unplugged the whole system and ran the pickup for a few loads, we were hauling cattle, then plugged it back in and everything works great now. no problems, so maybe a faulty connection.

See; Edge isn't bad. I love mine and have had no issues.
check these qoutes: "take the edge off, it it jacking with your stuff, unplug it and everything will be fine. i would throw it away. this is why i dont like them, they are not reliable. talk to edge they will work with you on getting it replaced. they are good people",
"it is the edge box, not reliable at all.", and "this is why i am going to get mechanical guages and going with smarty's so i know exactly what is going on and can trust them a great deal more."
This is why you have to take everything you read in a forum with a grain of salt. People are quick to jump to conclusions and treat everything written as the hard truth. Remember, not everyone posting to forums know what they are saying.
They often post opinion as fact.

I am new to this so let me ask a couple questions. Just picked up my 08 Mega 3500 Laramie SRW 6.7. Had only one diesel 05 2500 Quad 5.9 with no mods. EGT? Exhaust gas temp? How do you know it is going into regen? Also, I don't really want to get a new chip and potentially void my warranty, but think it is important to have some gauges to show what is going on. Any suggestions? Only mods I am planning now are 2" kit for front to level it, and Baja ATZ 33" tires.

i dont like the edge from experience from three friends that have them. from the trouble that they had with the units going out. only thing that i liked was how edge treated them on getting those units replaced. they have a good customer service.

same reason i wont buy a ford. i never owned one, they are pretty, fancy, but seem to be the least reliable.
