I think it would be informative if we had an on-going thread noting issues members have had on their brand new trucks. I've seen plenty of threads noting single or multiple issues or another, but they drop off eventually into "search mode". I've communicated with "The Stig", and if it's worthy, he will make it a "Sticky". It would then be helpful for members to help steer those who post "issues" to log them into the "Sticky" Thread.

There seems to be a lot of biased towards 2013 models having more than their far share of issues. But that may be simply because there are so many more of them on the road (than 2014 models). And of course we are probably only seeing a very small percentage overall. But it begs the question - did the 2014 models benefit from those issues and they were addressed by Chrysler in one form or another for the new model year? Also, the inconsistency of bringing it in for one issue (re-flash), and leaving or noticing new issues after the initial issues were addressed!

Anyway, I think if the issues were kept condensed down to what the issue was/is, if it was addressed, and/or if it created other issues, it could be a worthy thread of information for all (imho).

My 2014 - No issues - Purchased 11/2013 - 7500 miles.

My 2013 3500- purchased 4/2013 with 15K miles- no significant issues. Occasionally have an issue that required resetting the 8.4AN. (3 times so far)

I have not been in for flashes/updates etc. Since I'm not having issues, I don't want to start any by getting the "latest and greatest."

I had two attempted resets of nav/radio in spring 2013 which failed, one of which caused the batteries to discharge, since the tech left the unit waiting for input and pulling amps. Finally, Ram replaced the unit and it's worked okay. No other issues.

I purchased 2013 Ram 3500 single tire short box crew 12/13 and have had a vibration up from floor at 64 to 76 mph. Is worst at 72. Dealer took me out in another identical truck and it had exact vibration. They've replaced and balanced tires numerous times and can't make it stop. They've even shimmed the pinion but no luck. Scratching their heads.

2013 with 4700 miles. Broken filler tube for fuel, still waiting for the part to come 4 weeks later. EVIC issues idle hour meter was not working, fixed but now drive hour meter shows zero half the time. Radio screen shut off with radio on. Cruise control button sometimes doesn't work.

Wow, lot of issues on such a new truck.
This wouldn't be acceptable on a Toyota or Honda yet it's expected on a domestic (or mexican/italian now?).

Not huge issues but it's really annoying to waste time going back to the dealer for warranty work.

About to pull the trigger on a 2014 3500 but perhaps I need to stick to my 2011 that is pretty much sorted out...

This is a good idea.

2014 ram 2500 limited diesel problems

I purchased brand new 2500. At 300km the engine light came on. Brought to dealer and they reflashed...Since then in the first 4 weeks of ownership it has come on 7 or 8 more times...they tried reflashing 3 times, today they are changing the fuel heater...I have 4,721km on it now and have been at the service 4 times...I will give them 1 last chance today, if that does not work I will go to arbitration....I paid $84K for this ( Ottawa Canada)
Love my truck other than that!!!

My truck in sig; Vibrations 60 and up, 8.4AN seems glitchy, not really impressed with these head lights other than they way they look, trans seems to shift a lot and is not very smooth. Hooked it up to my car hauler the other day maybe 9000 lbs, pulls nice seems to have balls until you get into sixth and every little hill causes it to shift to fifth.

Still on the fence with this truck.

Probably because of 3:42 gearing and larger diameter tires. I wanted to go up to a 33-34 tire but will probably stick with factory tire size because of this.

13k Miles Evic shows ~3k towing

Fuel heater not turned on. Gelled up. Dealer Fixed

Power Steering hose leak. Sat at dealer for a week till repaired.

Quirky 8.4an behavior early on, much better now, still not perfect.

Seems to downshift alot while towing.

With that said I love the truck, just hoping for a flash to improve throttle response.

I have the gouges on both front windows. Still waiting to hear back. When i took it in to the local dealer for that, they took the liberty of updating my 8.4AN to the latest flash (which sucks, sounded better before) and they also, on paper anyway, did the 68RFE TCM quick learn. On my Aisin

7500 miles, approximately 2000 miles towing.

The "Updating" is really an interesting issue both pro & con. And one that I definitely would not want the dealer to simply do on their own if I brought my truck in for un-related issues (imho), for exactly your kind of example. I think they should share the "update" info with the customer first and possibly make it an option, depending obviously on exactly what the update addresses. But would be interesting in itself to see opinions from more on this hot subject.

truck in my signature has 24xxx. Waiting to take it to the dealer for a handful of things- front differential is leaking, transmission is a little sloppy, i cant stick the fuel nozzle in all the way when i fill it up (this really pisses me off), my check engine light flashes before i start it ( i think its trans related), and a bolt in the back bumper fell off. On top of that the closest dealership to me said they only had 1 diesel tech which is pretty ridiculous if you as me.
I will say every brand has their own problems even toyotas and hondas. I use to work at a toyota dealership and have seen their fair share of problems

Best pickup I've ever had. I love the power, the mileage, the gauges, the exterior, the interior, the radio/speaker package, the robustness of the components, pretty much everything about it. My only complaints are with the mobile hotspot (useless - a standalone MiFi sitting in the dash is way better), and the navigation system keyboard lockout (you can't even tell it a passenger is using it). On edit: I also love the Aisin. And I should probably add that I wouldn't go with any of the current Class 5/6 diesels except the Cummins, so that limits my choices a lot... And I forgot to mention I've now got almost 8,000 miles on it.

The General Ameritracs that came on my truck are the worst tires I've ever had on anything - no question, not even close.

Ram needs to do better with their QA. My truck had a 3.73 front axle, and a 4.10 rear axle. (It's true, I didn't specifically say I wanted the same ratio in both, but nobody told me I needed to.) But, seriously, I'd recommend that anybody with 4WD verify that they've got what they're supposed to have.

I followed your Threads on those issues; especially the Axle Ratio(s) issue. Incrediable to say the least. And how disappointing on such an expensive Truck that you ordered....:banghead:

Where to start. Truck was in the shop for over a month and they replaced the DEF pump, ammonia injector, power steering hose. This pos has left me stranded twice long distances from home. Chrysler Canada is useless to deal with. They flat out told me they will never buy a truck back, nor will they exchange it for a new one. They will keep fixing it till the problem is resolved. Little do they know the only way to fix it is to remove this useless DEF system. If you are reading this and looking at buying a 13+, don't. The DEF system will cause you nothing but grief if you live in a cold climate. Stick to a 12 or wait until the deletes are available for these new ones. I have had this truck for 5 months. And it's been in the shop for a total of 1.5 months. Garbage.

Please fill out your Sig with the specs on your Rig. Helps us relate more to the issues.

Sig truck. 3000 miles.
Annoying rattle at temps below 65 degrees near the drivers front area. Looked everywhere and can't find the culprit.

Problems with the key fob not being detected and have been dead in the water with the truck idling for 15 minutes after remote start.

Plastic parts everywhere that fit loose!

No mechanical problems.

2500 had 800 miles on her Manual trans. Started funny one day. Went to take off and it jumped like it was loping with bad engine noise. It sounded like their was a little man with a hammer inside the motor. Had to get it towed to dealer. They got to look at it next day and couldn't find anything wrong:(. Fixed itself on the wrecker.
