i recently installed the smary jr in my 12' an did 4" turbo back exhuast, iv noticed a similer problem, i havent had to tow anything yet so i dont know how it will be under a load but i noticed that the two times i put the hammer down to see what she had, it fell on its face at around 2400ish rpm. which i dont hardly ever run it up over 2100 or so before i shift but like i said i havnt towed anything yet so i dont know how it will act under a load.

 

This problem is all over this forum. You're not the only ones. I had it and went to a mini maxx. Did y'all install the Smarty before you did your deletes? So it could learn your stock truck with nothing added to it and then add the ME software after you deleted? Asking cause I didn't and I'm wondering if that's what caused my problem.

 

I have the exact problem. Wtf is causing it. I have tried 2 different me downloads and the same thing. I haven't tried the new k download as I cant find it anywhere. Has anyone solved this issue yet

 

What sensors do you have plugged in or not? I know some have seen some success with unplugging remaining EGR connectors.

Yeah there's plenty of it here, unfortunately with the EPA crackdown there's less and less support for it.

I've got the k download. It's on the ME download sticky under the 2012 folder.

However I just downloaded it today. Still haven't loaded it up on the truck yet, probably won't get a chance until next weekend.

 

the k me file you say is on there is the same as the k file on mads website. the emissions legal one. why would i load that one with my truck deleted.

 

The one on their website is DRS01K, the one on the sticky is DRM01K, which if I'm not mistaken "M" is delete, "S" is emissions equipped. I could be wrong though.

The truck has everything unplugged, servo, throttle valve, plunger and spring pulled as well. It seems only the 2012 trucks are having this issue.

 

there is 93 downloads of it. someone must know if it solves our issue. i have the same as howling1 unplugged. i am glad i am not the only one having this issue

why dont we contact bryan at smarty on here and see what he says. i also notice a shutter under hard throttle. i talked to a buddy of mine who has a 2010 with a smarty and it does the same

Several of us had it and that's why we run mini maxx now. I've tried everything and still have my smarty and tried the K, still did it. I started following this problem in November of last year when I first put it on.

 

if i could afford a mm id buy one but 1400 bucks is ridiculous

 

Finding a mini maxx where I am is very difficult and if u do find one they want an arm and a leg for it. Like 1500. Or I would go that route

dont get me wrong im very happy with my smarty and the customer service i have received but fixing this small issue would be nice, course i shouldnt mash the throttle all the time anyway, my clutch wont like it

 

I posted this in another thread but I will ask y'all I also sent this to Brian.

My truck did deletes installed Smarty it surged and fell on its face while towing on cruise and at WOT. Installed mini....problem fixed. Now this was my next test.

I had two buddies both of them had mini maxx's. did my first friends truck like mine, installed deletes loaded the Smarty same issues. Mini maxx fixed his.

Second buddy did like the instructions said downloaded the stock truck to Smarty, did the deletes then added the ME software. Truck ran flawless no issues.

My question is how did y'all do yours? Just wondering if this is the common link and possibly the fix to the problem.

I loaded my smarty into the truck. Then did the deletes. So in order to fix this I have to put the truck back to stock with the stuff all back on. Putvthe smarty on. Take all the crap off again amd then load the me software. Thats crazy amd a lot of work

 

For all I know I found the one truck that this worked on. I just seemed odd to me that it worked right and on the other two I did the same supposedly wrong thing twice. I don't know if that's really the issue or not just what I found. To be honest I hope it is cause it should just be a software fix your think. Cause I was deleted with all kind of check engine, service exhaust and see dealer lights on when I put on the mini and have not had one single hiccup. (Knock on Wood)
