06 3500 mega cab low flow from front a/c vents

I just bought a 2006 3500 mega cab 6speed last Thursday and the ac doesn’t work properly. The guy informed me he replaced the a/c compressor, the condenser, and supposedly the a/c lines ( I do not believe the lines have been changed due to them looking pretty old and matching everything under the hood unlike the compressor and condenser ). When I turn on the a/c wide open I can hear the motor blowing really hard but you can barely feel anything coming out of the front vents. If you switch it to floor or dash vents it blows pretty hard but it’s not really cold at all though but if you switch to heat it does get really hot. When I removed the glove box I seen the bar moving for the blend door every time I switched between vent settings . I have checked the pressure in the low line out of the accumulator and I’m right around 40 ( in the green) but i just don’t know quite where to go from here without just guessing and picking parts to replace or tearing the dash out. Would it be a clogged orfice tube? Or a bad accumulator? Or another blend door failing? Thanks in advance for the help!

Remove your blower motor (three screws and a plug) then reach up in there and take out the broken recirculation door. It will be just hanging out in there. It blocks the flow of air from getting anywhere because the door broke off the actuator. All you will lose is the ability to choose between fresh air or cab air. It’ll come from both places now unless you replace the door

I agree with above. Research Blend door issues.
Also. There is a screen in the dash that supposedly is the cabin air filter or something like that. Search out removal of that screen (Youtube will help in your search).
I did the Blend Door USA kit, and cut the screen out of the dash vents. It made a huge difference in out put.

My 2006 ram 2500 did the same thing. The blend door breaks off and drops down covering the blower which greatly reduces the air flow out the dash vents. I simply removed the lower three screws (Torque Style Heads) and carefully lowered the blower motor. You do not need to remove anything else....or disconnect the electrical connector to the blower motor. With the blower motor resting on the floor. reach up with your hand where the blower motor was mounted and see if the blend door is covering the opening inside. If it is laying over the opening, simply rotate it so it is standing on end and it will slide out down thru where the blower motor is mounted. After lowering the blend door reach up inside the housing and remove any broken plastic bits before re-installing the blower motor.
With out the blend door, the air circulating by the blower will be a combination of both outside & inside air. If you only want inside air, remove the plastic vent between the windshield and hood and tape closed the outside air opening.

If you don't like my simple fix, then pay the big bucks having a shop or dealer take your dash and A/C apart. If you have the blend doors replaced, use only the aluminum doors which will not break like the junk plastic doors.

There is also a diverter screen in the mega cab intended to help push air to the rear vents. This will clog with dust and limit the amount of air you can get through the front vents. You just cut it out and get a big improvement in air flow. Unfortunately it’s not as simple as that since you’ll need to pull the dash to access it.

The above regarding the screen is correct. This screen gets clogged. I replaced all blend doors and put dash on to find still low flow to top vents. Then took dash back off looked around an saw that vent air must flow through to top vents, was totally clogged. Took off, replaced with screen door mesh and nice air blows through. I build my own doors from steel as didn't have the $ to buy. Then check air temp in vents to see if cold.
