Welcome. I'm sure someone will add to this but maybe you should try reseting you APPS. Also fill in your signature so you dont have to describe your truck every time.

Cumminsman13 - Below is procedure for adjusting the APPS. Not sure this is your problem as the weather usually does not effect APPS. Look at all your connections and make sure your battery terminals and grounds are tight and clean. Did the problem occur after you installed a certain product? Like your injectors or Edge. Start at that point and work your way forward.

Proper service and repair procedures are vital to ensure personal safety of those performing the repairs. Standard safety procedures and precautions should be followed at all times to eliminate the personal injury or improper service, which could damage the vehicle or compromise its safety.
Although this material has been prepared with the intent to provide reliable information, no liability is assumed in reliance of this material.

It has come to my attention that a lot of people think by disconnecting & re-connecting the batteries and stepping on the throttle it is going to reset the apps, no, that is not correct. It is impossible to adjust your apps if you do not know where it is supposed to be set at. That is why you need the voltmeter.

This is the procedure I use to re-set the apps.

With the key on, engine off you need to probe the apps wire to see where your voltage is currently set at.
The best location to probe the wire is on the PCM (power control module) which is located off the passenger side of the firewall.

• You want the C1 connector, this is the connector closest to the engine,
• You want the orange wire with the dark blue tracer which is pin # 23
• Voltage should read somewhere around 0.5 volts,
• At this point the voltage reading does not matter, it just has to be accurately written down for later reference.

*** TURN THE IGNITION OFF ON THE TRUCK ***

Resetting the APPS Sensor cont. page 2
(Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor)
2nd generation 24 valve trucks only.

• The apps sensor is located slightly above and a little to the left of the injection pump.

• Remove the black plastic cover that is located by your injection pump.

The two screws that are holding it are plastic, do not put any downward pressure on them or you will never get them off.

• Un do the 6 - 10 mm headed bolts that hold the bracketry in place.
(DO NOT REMOVE THE CABLES)

You will notice the apps is on the back of the bracketry that you just removed, it is held in place by 2 - 20 bit screws. These screws have a little bit of locktite on them so make sure you have a good socket and gently give a little tap with a hammer before attempting to loosen. Be very careful these screws strip very easily and you only get one shot at them.

• On the apps you will find a white tag that gives you the information on what the apps adjustment should be.

• After loosening the screws you can rotate the apps both clockwise and counter clockwise to get the adjustment you need that is on the white tag.

• Have one person rotate the APPS and another person hold the meter and provide you with the readings.

• The reading you took at the beginning of the process on pin # 23 should match the white tag on your apps, if not adjust accordingly.

have you load tested the injectors? that is what i would try next. also check the voltage on the tps. it is still a possobilty that you got a bad tps. even though it is new it is still an electronic part. check with the dealer you got it from and see what the warranty is. have you unhooked the box and see if it is still there?

i tryed turning the box off even unhooked it completely problem still there the only thing that seemed to help was i put the stock injectors back in the truck and the problem seemed to go away, so i wanna believe that the injectors are messed up but the thing that confuses me is that went it was warm weather the truck ran great with the big injectors but as soon as the temp dropped outside it started bucking, now its still cold of course and with the stock injectors back in the truck and the box all the way up it seems to be runnin fine, i just want to makes sure that theres nothin else that could be causing the problem cuse i dont want to spend another 700 or 800 on set of new injectors and not fix the problem i mean if im pretty sure it will fix it ill order the new ones asap,

i would have the injectors pop tested and flowed first. i am asumming they are not in the truck right now. if they are load testing them in the truck will tell you wich one is bad. you start the truck and let it idle. crack each injector line at the head one at a time. if idle changes that injector is ok. if it doesnt change then that injector is a problem. it is a possibility that a small particle of debri may be stuck in it and that can be fixed very easily and for little money as long as it didnt damage the injector or tip beyond repair.

is the tranny stock. my truck did this when i put the programmer on it. the tranny has a torque sensor that defuels the truck when it senses slip but it feels like a miss.

Does it behave the same way if the Edge box is turned off?

Check the the pump wire tap and the the MAP sensor connections.

Any codes? Turn the key on and off three times leaving it on the third, read the codes off the odometer display.

Also does it happan at one particular pedal position (bucks with pedal 3/4 of the way down but clears up if you press it to the floor)? A bad APPS will do that.

My 01 did the same thing, and I too have the FASS fuel system. I didnt replace the fuel filter that goes before the pump for quite a long time and that was the simple problem. The fuel pump was clogged and starving the injection pump ,as well as, FASS pump.

Good luck!!

yea turning off the edge box help alil but the problem is still deffinatly there, the only thing that seems to cure the problem is putting the stock injectors back in the truck, and as for the same throttle position no it doesnt matter wut position more of a certain point of load on engine, 20-30psi of boost seems like everytime, like for example accelerating up a hill in high gear or pulling a trailer, i mean if i am goin down hill and accelerate and gett the boost up to that point it doesnt do anything cuse theres no load on the engine, thanks for the thought, though

im kinda having the same problem.if i drive it normal it is fine but if i really get on it it seems like its not getting enough fuel.when i turn my box off it makes a difference but like you said it is still there. i have a new vp and a new AD 150 so im kinda where your at but if i figure mine out ill let you know and it might help you.

its a ecm function that controls the trans. if you mash it from a dead stop its as tho yer on a rev limiter. the truck will stutter until it moves alittle and then itll acc as normal. smarty is the only real daily driver way to get rid of it. bd rad box will do itoo but turns off all yer dash gauges. research it its all over these boards

mine does not have a programmer on it just 150 injecters, but mine does exactly what you said. thought it was defueling, tried to put a power puck on it with built in boost fooler and it made it 10 times worse. i couldnt get past 1/4 throttle.i tried resetting the apps and it calls for .633 and all it would go up is .58 what do yall think. need new one?
