Well, I guess it's about time to start my own build thread on here. Background on me: I'm 31 and a member of the Iowa Army National Guard. I've been deployed three times so far, with at least one more coming. I'm a 91B, which is a wheeled vehicle mechanic. For my full time employment, I'm an instructor at the National Maintenance Training Center. I've been in since I was 18 and I can't imagine retiring anytime soon.
Background on the truck: It's a 2007, mineral grey, QCSB 4x4, 5.9L Auto. I bought it brand new when I got back from Iraq in late 2007. Life for it started out pretty bad. First thing I did to it was install the Banks PowerPack. Forgive me, I was young and stupid. The PDA for the Economind started acting up, so I ripped that out and switched to the Smarty. Uploaded TNT and quickly figured out I needed some transmission work. Took the truck to Goerends and got a full billet put in with the 15 blade stock stall. Shortly after that, the stock turbo started making some funny noises, so I opted for an ATS Aurora 3000. I've liked this little sucker since I put it on. About the same time, I put on a FASS 150 and II's dual feed line. I've run this for the last 10 or 15 thousand miles. I don't remember when, but I put 20x10 Rockstars on it and an RBP grille. Also on the list are 3 Isspro EV2's: 0-100 boost, egt and trans temp. That about rounds out what HAS been done.
Future of the truck: I bought Brennen's trips from him, so they'll be providing the air. I have a Stage 3 pump, 60% nozzles and a freeze plug kit coming from Shane. There's my fuel. Hamilton will be sending me a 188 cam with all the goodies to go with it, and I have A1 H11HD studs, a drive pressure and a rail pressure gauge coming from Bluegrass Diesel Performance.
I'll be installing everything myself, with the exception of the cam. I don't feel comfortable doing that, so I'm looking for a shop to do it that will let me take pictures during the whole thing.
The goal is to make this puppy run 800hp, still get decent mileage, and still be able to drive it every day of the year. Besides my motorcycle, it's the only vehicle that I currently own, so when I do stuff, it will be over a weekends time that I can get it in the shop.
