Been threatening to start a thread about my truck for a while. 2004 Quad Cab Long Bed 3/4 ton 305/555 NV5600 Ram SLT. Bear with me as Google Photos is retarded and took away the embedding feature.

Goals include:
Able to haul stuff
Long trips in comfort
Decent MPG
50mph rolling burnouts while towing a loaded gooseneck
Good handling/riding suspension
Get the womenz
Run stuff over

I bought the truck with 172,xxx miles on it in Jan 2015, from a friends brother-in-law in Pinehurst ID. Bone stock with an awesome brush guard and side steps, a B&W turnover ball in the bed, and a dent just in front of the passenger side tail light. That had previously been repaired with a gallon of bondo. Also came to me with the muffler cut out and replaced with straight pipe. The truck had not been washed in a very long time. Had green stuff growing around the badges and such.

First thing I did was give it a good bath.

It had a worn out drivers seat. Also 3rd gen seats suck. The worn out sagging bench in my beat up 1st gen that I had when I bought this truck was more comfy. So I put in some 4th gen bucketz.

Then I took stuff off.

Hauled a super heavy load. Not me in the pic. That's my buddy Fartsmeller. @Fartsmella98

I am going to cut this off here, to make sure the embedding of photos is working as intended. More to come homeez.

Edit: And the embedding is not working right. I am quite unhappy with Google about this.

Edit II: Might could be working now.

Put some BD sway bar links in. They work good and stuff.

Got a smokin' deal on a triple disc clutch from @lvramcummins. Cuz, you know, my stock truck needed a 1000hp clutch. Thanks again dood.

So then one time it was cold and rainy out and I was drifting my truck on the way home from church (like I always do). I lost it in a corner and ended up sliding backwards through a ditch, launching the truck up off the ground at an angle. This resulted in an upper ball joint getting play in it.

Well with one ball joint bad there was really only one thing to do.

Thuren 3" coils
Thuren Overland shocks
Carli "New design" track bar
Carli ball joints
Carli Control arms (craigslist score)
Synergy Steering linkage (click for install/review thread)
Synergy +1" shackles
Redhead steering gearbox
17x9 Raceline Avengers
35x12.5r17 Toyo R/T 10 ply

Then I rear ended someone.

Craigslist bumper (thought I was gonna put a sport cover on it)

SRT hood #1

Found snow with Fartsmeller

Towed my Jeep to MT

Installed stacks

New home!

Decided to get started on the serious motor mods. (Craigslist find)

Oops.

Paid cash for front end body work, including SRT hood #2. Also had the dent in the bed fixed. Ouch.

Put a Creative Fab steering sector shaft brace in there about that time.

New cowl covers and a few other randoms from the hood fly up incident.

Decided with all that money spent on body work it sure would be a shame to smack a dinosaur and mess it all up.

Got some gauges

Somewhere in there I got HP Tuners and basically just disabled all the factory boost limiters and such.

The Hungry Diesel sticker @RCCUMMINS89

Hauling a project

On the way home coming down the continental divide I saw this. Guy hauling a mobile home went off the road into the river. Bummer.

Somewhere in there I picked up a brand new DTT Assassin pump for about 1/2 retail.

Here's a good story. @Kracken sells me his BBI 2's (+72%) for a very nice price. Wombat is thankful. Stock injectors are getting tired, but work. I end up talking to this chick in NY because she needs a set of injectors, her truck doesn't even run hers are so bad. Part of my agreement with Joe was that I'd send him my cores (they run remember, but are showing wear). I offer to send mine to this girl for free, as long as she sends hers to Joe. She gets all excited and says thank you 400 times. I get up the next day and swap sticks. Never hear from the girl again. she gets offered free injectors and just disappears.

Ordered a new hair dryer.

Picked up a bed for that other truck

The bed for the other truck came with a perfect tailgate. So it got linex'd and went on my 04, and the 03 Hemi got my old gate.

Wired up the LED fog lights using a factory 3rd gen fog light switch. My SLT already had the wiring for the fog lights in the main harness. Just had to order the secondary harness, clip the ends and wire in some generic trailer plugs to make the lights removable.

Scored a blown up Jeep for cheap. Fixed the head gasket, had the head rebuilt, and made a couple grand on it in a few weeks time.

Fartsmeller came out to MT to visit me last August, we did the inner axle seals, u-joints, and hub assemblies in the front end.

Haul heavy stuff? Check

That's an 18,000lb Telehandler, on a 7000lb+ tilt deck trailer, behind my cute little 3/4 ton.

Disaster strikes again.

The story goes like this. I am towing the 20ft deck over gooseneck trailer at 75mph leaving Bozeman MT. Guy in 1998 Ram 1500 comes up behind me doing like 110mph and just plows into the back of my trailer. Apparently he has some kind of diabetes and was in a seizure or something. Trailer is totalled, truck is banged up. The impact sent the engine fan into the radiator hard enough that the fan shroud broke, and the fan clutch wires were severed. Thankfully the radiator is not leaking. I have recently settled up on the truck, took a total loss settlement but kept the truck. I am fixing what is necessary and continuing to drive it. The trailer is all bent out of shape and doesn't pull remotely straight. It is my roomates trailer, he is not being treated fairly by the insurance company and thus has not yet settled. They are valuing his trailer at $1800. It's a $4500 trailer all day long.

We were able to complete the mission however. Friends loaned us a trailer and we were able to pick up this 2003 QCLB 6spd for $2000 with a hole in the block.

So there we are grossing 20k up the Continental divide at 14mph in 2nd gear just to keep the coolant temps out of the red (fan clutch is dead remember).

Then a trailer tire blew.

Then we made it home. After dropping the new truck, we switched trucks to my roomate's '99 24v auto to take the trailer back to the owner, since, you know, it has a working fan clutch and all. Thankfully no more drama ensued. Here's a pic of the bent up gooseneck being towed down the road. We were driving parallel with the white line, but obviously the trailer was not.

Fast forward a few months. This is me rescuing the roomate's 24v when we had a little flop in the mountains the night before.

And here's a pic I took a couple days ago after washing the truck on a warm mid 30's day.

We are now current. I have a pile of parts waiting to go on the truck soon. I am quite excited.

Parts I have ready are

64.5/74/.91sxe
10mm Exergy cp3
BD manifold
DTT Assassin Lift pump
ARP 425's
Hamilton 103's
Pipes and stuff
FTE Resonator (straight pipe with a single is just dumb)
Fast Coolers (won in a contest)

I already have HP Tuners loaded up, haven't done a whole lot of messing with it but it runs okay right now, will need some help once I get this crap installed, to make this thing run right. Quite excited for this year!

Raceline Avengers. I have only seen pics of a few other trucks with them, never in person. I like them very muchos.

So the words are cool, and all, but the pictures aren't working for me.
I dunno what to tell you. It's working for me and the other guy. Maybe try using chrome as your browser? I'm just guessing here, the pics are hosted with Google.

You consider getting a baseline dyno before you start getting into engine mods ? It's nice being able to see exactly what improvements yeald the best gains... Makes for a good thread too 👍

They do work on chrome. I guess this is only going to be a problem when I look at cf on my phone.

I wasn't planning on it. I already have 72% over injectors in the truck and I feel it's a solid 380-400hp truck. I am not doing anything that hasn't been done a thousand times already. Really a simple build honestly. If I have a convenient opportunity before parts get slung though, I will do it.

Glad they work for ya on Chrome. I don't use the mobile version on my phone, I use the standard (classic) desktop version, and everything works. I use the old version on the computer too.

OOOH question fer youz.

I bought the Exergy cp3 from a dude on CompD. He says 150 miles on it. It's rusted up on the outside, and dirty. I called Exergy and gave them the number on it and they say it's a 2013 10mm pump. I am displeased with the possibility of contamination in the fuel ports etc. I have never messed with a cp3 before. I am 100% confident in my mechanical abilities. Is it something I can take apart and clean?

I use the old desktop version on my phone, but it's an iPhone with safari, so I'd say that's why it's no Bueno.

I tried taking apart a spare 5.9 cp3 once, and I got scared that I was going break a torx bit, and gave up, but I did a similar thing with one of the bolts on a s300 turbine housing, and recently actually took it apart, and the Allen socket was fine.

I have yet to be riding the bumpstops, it's all in how you load the trailer. I think bags would be kool, but I don't see them being a priority any time soon. Especially since the 34k gross haul, well that won't ever be a normal occurance.
