Hey there
I just swapped a 97 12valve into my 2000 2500 gas job and am running into so serious wiring issues, just wondering how i can get the harness from the 97 to match up tp my fuse box or should i try and get one from a 98 would that plug right in? because the 97 and 2000 dashes are different and so are the fuse boxes

Any input is much appreciated

You could just put the 1997 dash into the newer cab. It is some work but fits perfectly.

I'm not sure what to say but I do know the electric fuel pump from the 97 is not factory so it would have been wired by itself.Any chance you can chase the wire on the 97.If you can find out what after market pump it is you may beable to get a harness or at least a schemetic from them.

I'm not sure that the electric tank pumps for a gasser can keep up on a diesel.
I do know the tank pump fix they use on the 24 valves takes a different pump than the gassers.

Okay so my whole issue is from a typo in the manual. New problem now is I have to. Give the fuel shutoff solenoid 12v from the batteries to open it and 12 volts is too much for it it heats up and shuts off. Besides using a cable to make it work what can I do?

The p pump solenoid has a pull in winding AND a hold in winding. The pull in is activated while your starter is activated only & the hold in is activated with the key on, BUT for the hold in to function, the pull in must have bottomed the solenoid plunger.
The pull in will overheat if powered too long.
The hold in will not pull it in.
When you adjust the pyump lever, MAKESURE you allow the plunger to bottom at the same time the lever comes to a stop .

Make sure you go through the relays for the solenoid because it doesn't use 12 volts for either function as far as I know.

They are 12 volt, but I doubt the gasser will have them wired in.

Yes the relay's are 12 volt but I don't think the solenoid is.He needs the underhood wireing harness from the donor truck.
