Hey guys, this cold weather is killing my truck. my wipers stopped working today and they died in a bad spot... half ways up, right in my line of sight and I got a long drive tomorrow. no safe.

theyve been dying for a while.. some days they work, some days they dont. usually they work though, and the days they didnt, if I sprayed fluid it forced them to work... not now though, they are really dead.

is there any tricks to getting them down at least? or working again would be even better.

thanks.

Have your vin ran to check for recall. I cant recall which model rams the wiper motor replacement called for.

ok I will try the VIN. do I just call a dealership for that?

and I will try to manually move them down this morning... sure hope it works.

where is the wiper motor located?? I read I should try the grounding strip, and also check fuse 55 and 60.

thanks

Id check fuses first but unless the wiper linkages are junk it should with some force push back down to the cowl. The wiper motor is under the black cowl driver side.

Like i said its been a long time since ive seen that recall i cant renember if it covered any 03-05 rams or if it was 06-08. But yes, call dealer with last 8 of vin and service should be able to pull up any and all recall with dealer connect.

I tried pushing them down and dont think that happening... especially while everything is -30 out. felt like something was going to break. I am hoping my switch works this morning just enough to get them down... really dont wanna drive 4 hours today with them right in the middle of the window. ill also try pulling the arms off and moving them down.

Recall j-10 doesnt apply to your truck year. J-11 would if it had already been replaced with mopar number

If you pull the arms off id mark them on the splines because the timing will be wayy off after. Lift one arm up on pass side and push down on driver. It should move with force. Your not going to break anything that isnt broken.

15mm socket removes them, but be prepared for a good time getting arms off the splines

yeah thats exactly what I figured, the timing too would be tricky.... thank god they decided to work this morning. not sure why they didnt yesterday. its hit and miss it seems like. I turned ignition off and on several times yesterday. only difference is 8 degrees in temp. didnt work last night when I turned truck off, now they work this morning... I dunno. definitely need to get it looked at though.
