My passenger side window motor died about 3 weeks ago so I bought one from Advance auto and installed it and wala it is fixed. Started my truck today, and the motor is not working. Is there some fuses to check, if so where? and neither the drivers window control or passenger window switch is working for that window so I don't think its a switch cause my drivers window is still good. Any other help would be great

if you pull the switch apart you will find contacts, alot of times cleaning them cures the problem, and if one switch is bad the window will not work off the other switch, same thing with the power door locks...I stole a contact out of my locks to fix the power window switch, and thats how I found out they are dependant on each other.

is there any fuses I should check before I go pulling my door panel off and all that jazz. I had some trouble getting the switch out on my door panel the first time and just ended giving up, Is there a trick to that as well?

switch assy just pulls out of the door panel, no need to remove door panel unless replacing windo motor.
also pull back the boot were the wires go into the door(in near door hinges), common for wires to break there as well

I just tried another working switch from another truck and still no window down on passenger side. I am going to replace the window motor again and see if that solves it. Any other suggestions?

Ok so here is an update. I replaced both the passenger and driver side switches. I can plug in the new passenger side one and it will work once and then never again. We have tested all the wiring and there seems to be no shorts, or anything like that. I am completely lost. Any other help would be great.

usually its never a short, shorts mean you blow fuzes, more than likely you have an "open" in a circuit.

how did you test the wiring?

I tested continuity for each switch position for up on the passenger and driver side switch and I also unhooked the switch and tested that there was power going to and from the switch and then tested then I unplugged the the motor and tested that there was power coming from the passenger switch in each position and everything tested fine on the switch.
