I'm looking to upgrade my tranny some and I looked for the thread about basic tranny upgrades but couldn't find it. Any way the only upgrades power wise I'm doing is an edge comp and a small set of injectors. Will a single disk tq converter hold that? All the ones if seen rated single disks to 400ish hp? I would put a shift kit in it as well.

That TC will work OK. But you'll also want to upgrade the input shaft as well. Maybe a heavier clutch packs too. Shift kits are good if you've done valve body work. Might check into the as well.

A good single disc tc will hold down 400 hp just fine. The stock shafts will be ok too, it's really the tripple disc tc's that can shear off the input because they lockup a lot harder then a single. Installing a shift kit is easy enough and there's a lot of very good detailed pictures and info on this forum about those kits.

Yea that's the way ill be going. No sense of getting a triple disk if I won't ever need it. Are there any other reliable places for shift kits other than transgo? I'm getting my tq converter from revmax and if they had a shift kit I'd get it from them too.

I used DTT's shift kit in mine and it shifts great. I assume revmax have their own shift kit or sell them anyway?. One bit of advice I do have is get a lower stall tc then stock. Mine is 300 rpm's lower and when I put my foot down now the truck jumps out of it's skin instead of reving hard and going nowhere fast.

I don't know what the shift kit was on it's own because I bought it as part of the whole trans rebuild kit. PM Stefan for a price, CF name is S.kondaly.

I didn't see one on revmax website and yea I was already going to get a lower stall one. If you don't mind me asking how much was the dtt shift kit?

I'd just call revmax, or whatever transmission company your going with, and talk to them about what your going to do, they could probably set you up with a shift kit even if it is not on their website. Also you can sometimes get a better price if you call.

Revmax does not sell a "shift kit" they really prefer to sell you a boxed up valvebody. Call them and tell them what you use your truck for, your mods, and plan the converter and VB together. It will shift quick but smoother than stock and blow the tires off at will...

My stage5 with 15 blade stator will smoke off my dually with a trailer on. The torque multiplier upgrade is a NICE feature for getting rolling.

Ah yes, which is why I said their upgrade is a nice piece....

OP, if you tow A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G with a single disc and higher than stock hp it will slip sooner rather than later.

I had a stage3 before I built my trans. It lasted a year on an edge ez, hx35, and 100hp jammers, light towing (7k trailer and Dakota)

Edit: and to add, I had a Transgo-TFOD shift kit with line pressure [email protected] idle and [email protected] WOT
