Does anyone know if factory Dodge 4" tube side steps for a '09 Mega cab (old body style) will bolt up to the '10-up HD Mega cab? I found some new in the box here local for a good price but they are for a '09 and I have a new '11. In speaking with the dealer, the part numbers between the two are different so there must be some differences, but I'm wondering if it is just that the '09s are 4" and the newer ones are 5"?

I'm concerned with whether the brackets/bolt holes are the same? And whether the rubber steps will be in the right position since the doors are different.

Thanks.

The mounting system is different. I did some internet investigation on the install and the newer version has rivnut's that need to be compressed into the body. The locating slot above the rivnuts looks similar but the body panel looks different. Check it out>

I also found some photos that show the panels look different>

It seems to me that you cannot swap them without having to do some modifications, which I don't want to do. I don't know if the mounts will be in the same location along the truck. There is a small chance that the locating holes on each are the same and the older steps will fit the newer model but I doubt it looking at the photos.

Anyone have any real world experience (or different steps to compare) that says otherwise or confirms that it won't work? :confused013:
