I ran the stock head bolts for a while with my silver 64 but never went over 45psi with it.. Now that I have studs I have my gate set at 55psi
do you like the silver 64 because thats what im looking into buying
I ran stock head studs with both set of twins I had and run em up to 60 psi... I didn't do it too long with the bigger set of twins but still did it...:headbang:

I love my turbo not to laggy and it can still move some air... I'm gonna be giving Shane a call soon and see if we can turn this into a nice set of twins...
I run my 64/71/13ss with stock studs that I haven't touched for about 5 months. I hit 50 psi and that is where it is wastegated at. I plan to run twins and stock studs for a bit. Until, I pay off the twins. Then 625's will go in for sure.
I didn't have a 64 but I did have a 62 which hit 52 psi and was still on stock head bolts. IMO a manual truck will last longer with stock head bolts than an auto just because during shifts you are letting off the throttle, in an auto it is full boosting the whole time.

Hey bud do you plan on keeping your 64 when you do your twin setup?? I'd like to keep my silver 64 but I gotta say I do miss the spool up of the stocker... Thanks Shawn

I don't think it works like that
I run stock head bolts with a 64 and have had zero problems. I see 50psi all the time but have seen 58psi boost once, but still no problems.

dont mean to highjack but how is the bottom end with that 64? Is it very laggy? Have any of you ever towed with it?
I tow here and there. I have towed 10k with the 64. It was ok, a little on the hot side untill you get up on boost. Once up on boost it is great but you just have to pay attention and stay up on the boost or it will get real hot real quick. The lag isn't all that bad and smoke is controlable with the right foot.

How are you guys managing to get more than 44 psi out of this turbo on stock injectors? I have a Gillette Diesel S364 with the 80 a/r ratio 14.77cm turbine housing, and I have put a boost controller on it, and cannot get it to boost past 44 psi for the life of me.

Do you think maybe I don't have enough drive pressure with such a large turbine housing? Or am I just lacking the fueling to spin it any higher?

Tuned with Smarty, set on TNT # 7.
Are you still running your stock sticks??

I am going to run a 62 first and if it isn't bad, then I'll go to a 64. Since there are a lot of people that want a 62/71/13ss anyways.

Right now at 2k RPM, I am at 20 psi boost. My 64/71/13 lights up pretty darn fast with these Flux 3's I have.
Nice... When you end up doin it let me Kno how you like it I'm trying to get all the imput I can on a good twin setup before I go and spend a couple grand... I'd like to do it right the first time around ya Kno.. Thanks again Shawn

Yeah, stock injectors. I was wondering if maybe that's all there is to it, but it seems there are people running stock injectors that are able to get more than 45 psi from this turbo.

Then again, I don't know if maybe those people could be running a smaller turbine housing than I am, causing the drive pressures to be a bit higher even with the stock injectors.
sorry to highjack but i just have one question. i have a super b special that is coming and im going to gate it to 55, but i have arps and its says to torque them to 125lbs. is that what everyone is torque to? thanks
I have mine torqued too 135ft/lbs...
Boost Junky when I had 50hp injectors I could only spin my 64 to about 47psi so yea with having such a large turbine housing and stock sticks there's prob not enough fuel to get more boost...
