it's always been a blend, last i knew the only two true full synthetics are amsoil and royal purple, all the others have some sort of petroleum product in them.

Mobil 1 used to be a group 4 synthetic, but now it's a highly refined mineral oil basically.

The only other cheap/affordable group 4 I can think of is Castrol Syntec 0w30, the german made stuff.

Castrol Syntec 0w30, the german made stuff.

0w30 says made in germany on the bottle, the label is slightly different, and for the longest time it was green in colour and was indeed a group 4 oil.

That's what it used to be... M1 is a group 3 oil now, just like 99% of castrol syntec.
