as the title says, looking to get nozzles in the 90-125 hp range. who makes the best nozzles?

I don't believe energy sells just nozzles aside from stock or bms nozzles in 50 or 100hp

One or two companies do most of the aftermarket honing for a lot of other companies. The main thing is make sure you are getting genuine bosch nozzles, a lot of places with cheap nozzles are starting with a sub-par product.

Though that statement is correct with the REPUTABLE main stream companies.... I'd be careful in that statement.

I personally know of multiple places that can and do hone work for common rail stuff (and obviously 12 valve stuff).

Only reason I say this is because of average joe sees your above statement and is trying to save money... rolls into his local injection pump shop and they say "oh, yea... we have a company that does hone work" He may think that the same place is doing the work as the reputable places.

For common rail nozzles....... go with the reputable companies that have been mentioned in this thread.


Honing is an art, just like edm. Different medias, different ways of measuring flow, etc.. How far you can hone out with certain methods... all play a role in cleanliness, power, burn time, cloud point, etc.... Which is the reason why I said what I did.

I'll only use 1 company for my 12 valve stuff, due to the media, and how we work together.... with number of flows with certain designs of nozzles/spray angles, etc.. but I wouldn't use him for common rail stuff.

I have no personal experience with BD's common rail stuff, nor do I know who they use. Hopefully someone else does.

Just buy BMS nozzles..they are 100hp over stock 325hp nozzles, they are not touched by a 3rd party so you know they are done to exact BOSCH specs.

If you looking for more than 100hp..then look to Exergy, or Altered Diesel.

How are the Italian made nozzles from DAP? Are they the same as BMS, different, worse?

If your nozzles are good send them to Extrude hone in Irwin,PA.

I have before. I sent off good nozzles and when I installed them they were leaky. Dont know if they switched the pintles on accident or what but ended up being a waste of money trying to be cheap

extrude hone has done every set we have had done (probably over 100 sets conservatively) and they have always worked well. I have had 5 different sets in my own truck cut by them all on the stock bodies and can't complain.

What ever happened to F1? I have them in my 03. They also rebuilt the rest of the injector.
