Whines when cold

My truck is starting to whine when it's cold, the steering and brakes are the culprit. Its like the power steering pump might be goin bad, but I don't know why it's affecting the brakes? The fluid level is full, and it is not leaking. Do you guys think the ps pump is the culprit?

Change your fluid. Perhaps go with synthetic since you have noise. This has been discussed within the last few days in more detail.

The brakes use a hydrobooster that runs off the PS pump. Look at your pump and you'll n otice extra lines running to the booster. Mine started whinning about four winters ago. I changed out the fluid. Still does it sometimes, just not as often. Usually happens when it gets below 15 degrees.
Mine did the same thing when I first got it, after I had time to look at it I noticed my power steering fluid was really low, filled it up an it went away after the next start
