I need to hone my 03. I'm going to use flex hone. I'm trying to figure out which one to order. Any thoughts? It's standard bore.

4 ½" Silicon Carbide 240 grit sound right?

First, are all the bores round and parallel sides top to bottom. Got a micrometer set?
Waste of time and money just glaze breaking worn out cylinders.

Second, What material of ring facings?
iron faced, chrome faced, moly faced?

Technical information on using engine hones, flex-hones, ball hones

Hones are slightly oversized already, ordered by bore size. 4 inch bore, 4 inch brush which is slightly larger than 4" diameter..

Don't overdo, 30>45 seconds MAX per hole at 500>800 rpms MAX on the drill and use lots of honing oil, no solvents. Soak the nobs well with oil before first hole, they're dry. Use more oil on each hole. Can use cheap motor oil. Don't let the flex shaft touch the bore.
Clean with hot soapy water and nylon brush. Wipe with soft lintfree clothes until spotless. Any grit left in crosshatch destroys the rings, will be an oil burner smoke pot.

Give BRMs customer assistance a call, they'll set you up. 323-261-2193
