Hey guys new to the forum. wanted to say thanks for all the great advice to start question i have is this what is the best clutch for towing. i usually pull a 10k skid loader with a 25 ft gooseneck total weight truck and trailer is around 25k. im not sure what will perform the best with the trailer and still be fun to drive without a load

^^^ What he said. I went with the valair ceramic DD (shouldve gone organic DD) and i tow a 30 ft GN and sometimes its a PIA. Wish i wouldve went with the organic DD bc everyone talks about how smooth it is and its great for towing. Ill be trying it out if the ceramic ever goes. I do however like the ceramic DD when im not towing. It holds very well and i havent had any issues in the past 22k miles with it. +1 for valair

Same boat as sticker89..got ceramic, should have done organic. But it holds the power and weight very well.

On a side note I have an engagement issue with the clutch and cant get any reply from valair.

Valair Organic DD all the way. I have one in mine and love it. I pull a lot of big equipment amd it shifts smoothly and holds the extra power.

Hey guys. I am getting ready to get one too in the next couple months. Why Valair over south bend? Most of the people I know have south bends.

Same here. I installed with the help of a friend. Used a set of ramps and dropped the tranny down. Installed everything and put it back up. Was about a 5 hour job.

Main reason i went with valair was i knew a few that had already had valair and had quite a few miles on them. Other reason was it was a little bit cheaper and i know cheaper isnt always better but both companies have about the same feedback if you do some searching on here and i figured why spend the 100 or so extra on a SBC when valair is about the same and cheaper.

Great. Thanks. I was wondering which one to get. I don't tow alot, just dragging wagons in the fall and some odds and ins in the spring, so would I be better off with a ceramic? This is my daily driver.

Ceramic is gonna be very grabby. Mine was very grabby and actually pissed me off to the point where i thought i made the wrong decision and was gonna buy organic. But after it broke in a little bit and i got used to it it was alot better.
I would say look at what you will be doing overall with the truck in the time you own it. Organic i believe is rated for 500 or 550 hp. Ceramic is rated for 650 hp. If i were to do it again i probably would try the organic. I highly doubt i will ever be making more than 550 hp so it was somewhat pointless to have the ceramic. But everyone is different. So i would say just do a little thinking about if you can deal with the grabbiness everyday, how far you will be going performance wise in the truck, and what would work best in your situation. Thats my opinion. Also i pull a 30' gooseneck and backing up is a pain with the ceramic. Its very jerky and you cant really slip it so you either have to let it out and back up fast or throw it in 4low to get a nice smooth slow reverse.
